I can see that happening, his d-game is probably gonna scare off a lot of teams.

Seems to be in free fall right now, I don't think he drops as far as Chychrun did but won't be shocked if he's picked much closer to 10th than 1st

Yea I think after the top-2 centers, Liljegren may be the guy they go after, but this kid is probably right behind him.

Pettersen does look filthy, seems to be trending outside of the top 10 in mocks right now and I don't know why

I have Pettersson at #1 in this draft, he's just absolute filth and his hockey IQ is off the charts. Reminds me a lot of Datsyuk in style, only big difference is that he doesn't have Pavels effortless stride.

Canucks have been heavily scouting this team, I think Pettersson is their guy if they don't get Hischier/Patrick/Tippett

just watching some highlights, super aware of what's going on around him and processes very quickly. Combined with at least normal tools, he could be a very good one

He's going to get overly fancy at times and have bad giveaways too, but you'll take that bad with the good I think

Pettersson makes those little smart plays that you can not teach. I was watching him defend in transition, and he looks like a 15 year veteran. He reads other players so well. He knows what they are going to do with the puck, knows when and where to put his stick to create turnovers. And when his team is in control of the puck, he reads opposing players the same type of way. They might be stronger than him, more physical, faster, but he can play games with defenseman because of how much smarter and skilled he is than them.

I feel like hockey IQ is one of those qualities that can really elevate a tool-set. If Pettersson had only okay hockey IQ, I think you could say he'll probably still be a middle 6 forward. He has incredible skill, hands and he's a good playmaker. Good enough size, skating isn't terrible, and he can score some goals. But his level of hockey IQ is the type of skill that elevates his game like a full notch or two. I'd bet on whatever the over is with his game because of how much his tool-set will play up because of his hockey IQ.

Sounds a lot like Taylor Hall. Processes the game amazing, great awareness and puck movement and passing, but does tend to overdue it at times with his bad turnovers

Wouldn't be surprised if Vancouver picked him in the top 10. He's an elite forward and has great chemistry with Dahlen (Nucks prospect).

Not to rain on the parade, but the guy is listed at 6'2" and 161....that's almost anorexic....and scouts stay that based on the physique of his brother, he might have to play in the NHL at 175 or so.....he could get squashed on that tiny NA rink......and I see the latest Sportsnet March draft rankings are out and he's rated 27th in the first round....just sayin'

I'll gladly take him in the high teens if he's still around. Gotta swing for the fences in this kind of draft

I was watching a show yesterday where Jeremy Roenick said he was 155 pounds when interviewing with NHL teams, and they asked him to step on the scale. He scuffed at that saying a scale never scored a goal.

Give it a few years, Pettersson will be in the 190's-200's.

Yeah, I'm sure he'll go late 1st. Maybe Detroit can pick him with their 2nd rounder!
