Smarter? Doubt it. Bigger? Strome is taller yes, but Draisaitl has probably about 20lbs on him. More talented? How do you quantify talent? I would love to know the metric. Higher upside? Maybe, still very close though.

Happy for the kid. Not a single player in the CHL I watch more than Strome, I have high hopes for him.


Strome is a better skater, smarter offensively, and is just a better prospect overall.

Both are studs and future top line players.

Strome is absolutely not a better skater. I don't know if he's smarter offensively but I think Strome has better instincts, I'll give you that. Both are great prospects and I don't know how you say one guy definitively is better than the other at this point. Then again Strome is canadian so there's that.

As others have said, it's a good year to have a top five draft pick, because beyond the obvious top two of McDavid and Eichel, the likes of Strome, Hanifin and Marner all look like they're going to be elite NHLers one day.
