He has a phenomenal shot. One of the most underrated parts of his game because people see him as primarily a playmaker.

I jumped back and forth from Marner to Strome for the longest time but I have settled on Strome, I want the Leafs to draft him (Barring Hanifin falling to 4th).

Marner IMO will be the better player by a hair but Strome fits the Leafs needs much more.

You cant teach elite hockey IQ and size like him. Plus I have a feeling hell grow a bit and be even bigger than Draisaitl. You can teach skating (although not to an elite level).

Strome is the perfect player for the west, and a Getzlaf/Kopitar type guy. Having him and Draisaitl on a line with Hall, the opposition would never get the puck

I think he needs another year of junior for the skating, but almost NHL ready otherwise.

Even if Marner was BPA, id recommend the Leafs pick Strome as they already have Kadri/Kessel/Nylander. Similarly the Oilers have Yak/Hall/Eberle

Happy for the kid. Not a single player in the CHL I watch more than Strome, I have high hopes for him.

Strome is a better skater, smarter offensively, and is just a better prospect overall.

Both are studs and future top line players.

True, and Arizona getting Marner is perfect for their needs. All teams should just agree before the draft to be smart and go with the best fit Arizona- Marner Toronto- Strome Oilers- Hanifin

I think Marner is the safer player, but Strome if he reaches his potential will simply be the more valuable player as a big possession center. With Marner I'd almost be surprised if he's anything less than a 1st line wing, while with Strome I could see him as a 2nd line guy on the lower end of it if he doesn't turn out as expected. Would still take Strome though, you're not getting a big #1 possession center anywhere else.

He's a beast. I'd be surprised if Carolina doesn't stay at #5 and you can't go wrong with Hanifin, Strome, or Marner it seems.
