I watched him play a few WJ Championship games and thought he was ok but not outstanding.
Watching him play these last 3 games in a Flames uni is definitely going a long way towards changing my mind. He's been outstanding so far. Hope he turns into another Monahan or Tkachuk who makes it impossible to leave him off the roster on opening day of he 2018 season.

While I would absolutely love Dube to play on the Flames' roster, I would much rather he played in the AHL and got some top line minutes there. Have him replace Frolik in a season.

Might be a bold claim, but he's definitely up there. He'll be last cut on the Flames if he doesn't make it this season. Gaudreau said he was surprised when he didn't make the the team last year.

I think you might be salty because he's better than your golden nugget Yamamoto

7 points in 3 games now, although they’ve been the rookie games. He deserves a shot. I’d even think about slotting him in on the 3rd line over Bennett.

Had a long conversation with a workmate about this exact thing today.
It's hard to peg, because these three games have been Rookie games + Rookie + Repug PTO games, but if he continues this trend when the big boys come back from China. He deserves an NHL look.

Best player on the ice last night.

Agreed. Only way he's not is if they do something dumb like play Lazar or Hathaway over him
Have a feeling he'll be given the Jankowski treatment. Dube will probably have an excellent camp and out play certain vets, but won't make the team because of contracts/waiver situations.

He was one of the final cuts last season and looks to be even better compared to this time last year. I can't even remember the last time a Flames prospect looking this good in the prospects games, maybe Gaudreau. He'll definitely get NHL games this season as the first call up, but I just can't see him making the team straight out of camp with the current roster the Flames have in place.

It'd be interesting if Dube bumps Janko off the depth list.

While I'm incredibly enthused with his performance (Cochrane High represent!) I am waiting to see how he looks against NHL regulars before anointing him as a lock. He's certainly doing everything in his power right now though.

I wouldn't be overly surprised if they start him playing top minutes in the AHL over 4th line NHL minutes, and have him as first injury callup for a hole in the top 9.
