Based on what?

He would probably develop well in the minors. It's not uncommon to see 19 year olds in the AHL.

Based on what I watched from him in many games last year in Kelowna.

He's a very effective buzzsaw-type player, but in no way did he take over the league. I'd be very afraid to put him on NHL ice. I think he'd get destroyed out there, and this is a crucial year of development for him. The AHL is irrelevant due to the impossibility of the nature.

Like Jared McCann, who 2 years ago had a stellar camp, people will rave about players in the preseason and soon realize (like McCann, ~15 games into the regular season), that the player is physically (and mentally) overmatched. Then begins a rough season until he actually can play in the AHL the next year.

I personally don't think Dube would help the Flames much at all this year. Let him develop in major junior.

He looks like he's on a completely different level compared to any other forward in this prospect game

I read somewhere, that Johnny Gaudreau said that he was surprised Dube did not make the team. I don't remember what yea yea it was.

Dube will be an impact forward. Dynamic skill, smarts and skating ability. He could easily make this team out of camp or at the very least, be the first call up.

You guys are getting me excited.

Seems like this years Jankowski where you just have a feeling he's going to force his way on the team.

Right now he looks like our best prospect and I could easily see him making the jump to the NHL this year in a bottom 6 role. So smart with and without the puck.

Living in Kelowna I have to say every time I went to a rockets game, Dubé was the one who had me out of my seat most often despite Lind’s lofty point totals.

Think he will be a high end number 2 center. Great speed and kinda similar defensive abilities like backlund if things go right with marginally more offensive upside.

He’s proven enough at the Junior level. He dominated the 2 prospect games against the Oilers and most of those guys were top guys at the junior level. So I don’t think he needs any more time in juniors. Dube already has a pro game as well. He’s already had a taste of the AHL in the spring and didn’t look out of place. The AHL is where he will be and I have a feeling he will outgrow that league pretty quick as well.

Very promising prospect.
What's funny, I seem to remember Sam Cosentino saying that this was one of the best prospects in hockey at that point (drafted players) and me being like 'LoL, okay, sure Sam," but it turns out this kid is absolute dynamite.

He was impressive as team Canada's WJC C, he was impressive in the Dub, he's been impressive in preseason (people forget he almost played his way onto the Flames roster last season, but we simply had too many spots held by vets, shit as they were), he looked great in the rookie camp early this summer, and he was the best overall player in the EDM/Calgary rookie showcases.

I have a feeling this guy will be an impact NHL'er. If someone with a crystal ball said he was a 20G, 25 assist middle 6'er in two years, I wouldn't bat an eyelash.

Please look at the date of my post. I made it a year ago.
