In one play, two injuries occurred:
-Hand injury
-Canada=broken heart (I'm in stable but serious condition)

:( :( :(

you folks realize that fighting is already against the rules, right?

its a 5 minute penalty.

if connor mcdavid of all people wanted to fight, im not sure getting kicked out of the rest of a meaningless wednesday night OHL game would have stopped him.

just my 2 cents

@simmonssteve: Update: Connor McDavid has a slight fracture of a small bone in his right hand. Specialist appt Wed in Toronto. His world jr play in doubt

The smaller the break the longer it usually takes to heal.

You know the legend of McDavid is getting real when there is a panel of not doctors to break down his injury on my TV.

That's not true. That makes no sense.

It actually is true. A fracture can take more time to heal (sometimes) than a clean break. It really depends on the fracture though. It depends how well it heals. For some people, a slight or hairline fracture could be a month and for someone else it could be a week.

The education system. Blame them if my info is wrong ;)

On the day I witness one of the greatest cinematic visual achievements in history, to hear this news has made me forget about everything about the film. Oh my goodness, that's unbelievable, just like that an entire tournament's aura is gone if he's out.

Really a dumb decision to drop the gloves but it's hockey, it happens especially if you have that adrenaline pumpin'.

Heal up quick McJesus.

I was taught the same thing and didn't really believe it... and then I experienced it first HAND :sarcasm:

how ironic, he gave this interview not to long ago, check out 11:12, he should have stuck to his own conscience

More time for him to take in more Bills and Sabres games. Maybe do a little house hunting.

Feel sorry for the hand specialist who will be examining him later today, all of Canada's media will cling to this story and find him to cover the news like the UK covered the Prince William's wedding. Lol, hope the kid's okay, could be as little as a couple of weeks so hope for that.

World Juniors will lose a lot of it's luster for all Hockey fans across the World if he's not there. Speedy recovery, kid.

Bob reporting from the airport was a nice touch.

Tough news for him but he will be fine. I wouldn't be surprised if he was ready to go by the end of December.

As an aside, has Erie had the easiest schedule on the planet up until this point? I was looking forward to watching McDavid play when the competition got better.

No, he's just talented at hockey.

Probably would've helped if he just kept his gloves on. I know it may look embarassing but i doubt he fractures his hand if he did just that.

Probably has a "Boxer's Fracture" of one of his metacarpals. Could require surgery/pins, etc.

McDavid clearly got sick of being compared to a pansy like Crosby and wanted to usher in some Lindros comparisons. Good on him for standing up for himself, bad luck with the hand injury. Hopefully he's back in time for WJC

Hope its not his scaphoid bone, just broke mine, thats 10-12 weeks in a cast, and add
another month or so if its surgery. :(
