He looked primed to have another big game tonight too.

Not the smartest move to fight when your a player of his skill ability. Emotions can take over so hard to blame the kid, but not the best street smarts there.

I wish skill players would stop fighting. I understand that sometimes your temper gets the best of you, but its really not worth it. Hope he's alright..

Watching the clip in slow motion it looked like he got slashed with his back turned. Hard to tell from the clip, but just juding from CMcD's reaction.

RT @BNHarrington: TSN is reporting McDavid is heading to the hospital for X-rays on his hand. <-- Told Otters being extremely precautious.

@BNHarrington Also told he has full movement in his hand.

That's good to hear he has movement in his hand.

It sounds like it's all a precautious and it might not be a serious injury but doing it just to be sure.

Erie GM Sherry Bassin on McDavid "We don't even know if it's an injury. We're doing this as a precaution. Even if it was you we'd do this."

Love how the same people that are going to pile on him for being a skill player and fighting will be the first ones to say that staged fights/goons are stupid.

This

McDavid wanted to fight. No reason for people to be upset about this. Plus, he hurt his hand. That's not a big deal. Would people be okay if McDavid had his hand slashed instead?

No official word on Connor McDavid, but according to Erie Otters PR staff: "It's not looking good."

We're basically 6 weeks from the WJC. A broken hand can be as many as 6 weeks and even then...maybe it's another week after that, Oh boy.

So it goes from not looking good to being something that may not even be an injury? Seems questionable.

All eyes are on him knowing where is is going to be next year and hopefully later this year (playoffs for the Otters). Nothing wrong with setting the tone and sticking up for yourself.

I think everyone got nervous that he hurt his hand and it seemed kind of scary the way he was holding his hand, add onto that he had to go to the hospital for x-rays.

Best prospect in the world and you're fighting?

Well at least it shows he's willing to stand up for himself..
