A pointless game for the kid. 6/17 in a face off circle and only 3 shots. Not his night.

That's a pretty cool description. I've heard people say Marcel Dionne in this thread, but I never had a chance to see him play.

Dionne is probably the closest comp but I hate player comparisons.

That aside Dionne was a very good shooting and decent skating center who emerged as a top player right away in junior.

Shorty but stocky not slight like Johnny hockey.

I think a lot of people are concerned about his size - or lack thereof.

I really think that train has left the station as he is very stocky and sure an inch or 2 more would be great but he will still be an elite offensive NHL player if he stays at 5'9" his shot is NHL ready right now.

An assist vs Saskatoon. The kid is a little cold lately...

Those two clips posted from the Saskatoon game are just a small part of all the jaw-dropping plays he did last night. Couldn't find the highlights yet on the CHL site but I hope most of them won't be edited out. I know one assist on the scoresheet isn't much by his standards but if you see them I'm sure you wouldn't say he seems cold, even jokingly.

He had the puck on an absolute string last night.

Regina has been so awful as of late, may as well try anything.
Yeah, outscored 13-1 over their past 2 games, this was their only goal. And have lost 6 of their last 7, mostly blowout losses, the only win a 3-2 win.

Part of what makes Bedard’s production so impressive is that his team is legitimately TERRIBLE. Even with Bedard they’re 2nd last in the Conference, without him they’d be vying for last in the league IMO. He’s doing this with so little help, they get consistently dominated and hemmed in their own end, and he still manages to be one of the top scorers in the WHL at 16. Can’t imagine what kind of ridiculous season he’d be having on a powerhouse team.

Totally agreed. If he was on the Ice or Oil Kings, we would've seen a season for the ages (imagine Bedard with Guenther? Sheesh). And the Pats are so pathetic they couldn't even get a playoff spot in the East when it was pretty much up for grabs.

If the Pats are terrible next year (all signs point to that they will be worse) they should trade him to a contender. It would be a tragedy he doesn't get to see any playoffs in the WHL.

Think Kucherov's playmaking abilities with peak Stamkos's scoring touch.

I think he will be a perennial 50 goals, 100 pts guy. Might hit 120 pts in his career year.
This probably is a bit much. Pre-injury Stamkos was something else. He had an absolutely amazing start to 13-14, too, before he got injured - 14 goals in the 16 full games. And Stamkos never got his skating back.

If he actually had prime Stamkos's scoring and Kucherov's playmaking, 50+50 is not enough.
