This probably is a bit much. Pre-injury Stamkos was something else. He had an absolutely amazing start to 13-14, too, before he got injured - 14 goals in the 16 full games. And Stamkos never got his skating back.

If he actually had prime Stamkos's scoring and Kucherov's playmaking, 50+50 is not enough.
Agreed.
A better than prime Stamkos version is a superstar player.

I see him as having the potential to be as good as McDavid offensively if everything goes well for him.

People don't realize he is 60 days away from being 2024 draft eligible. What he is doing on a god awful team is nothing short of amazing. He's having just as good of a 16 years old season than McDavid (while being 7 months younger).

The 50, 50 was sort of the minimum. He'll end up having seasons closer to 120 pts.

Of course next season will be key. If Regina is better then we should see his production explode over 2 PPG.

They're going to have to make some pretty bold trades to be better. They'll be losing Ryker Evans who has been a PPG defensemen, and who knows if Columbus will send Svozil back next year. It'll be a pretty young back end if they don't.

Yes. Where are they going to get the assets to acquire the 6 or 7 players they would need to be a contender. Might as well trade him for a boatload of assets to a contender next season.

If they do it'll be at the trade deadline. Pats owners are trying to milk Bedard for every dollar they can, they've already raised prices for next year about $100 a ticket for many.

$100 bucks for junior tickets? I get inflation but that's ridiculous.

Not like that money is spent on getting a good couple of imports.

Are they putting him with Nijihoff again?

Any word on Bedard entertaining going to Europe a la Matthews?
Won't happen. CHL controls his registration for the next 2 years. He could sue to try to break it, but that would just put him in limbo and potentially lead to not playing at all. Plus, Matthews had to wait until he turned 18 and graduate high school to sign a professional deal in the EU as an import, unless Bedard through family heritage has a European passport the hurdles will likely be too large.

I probably should have clarified, season tickets are going up about $100 for next year.

Never thought of that. Thanks.

What does controling his registration mean? Is it some kind of a contract that other leagues must respect?

As to Europe, Matthews went to NLA, that didn't let U18 imports to play in. As far as I remember SHL rules are more liberal.

Basically, they control his transfer card in regards to the IIHF.

Switzerland are not in EU. You could absolutely sign an professional deal in Finland despite of being underage import from NA. There is not any limitations.

That's nuts. Oil Kings games are $25 for row 3 in Oil Kings end.

If that's their plan for ticket prices next year, then I'll scrap my plan to travel out west to catch the young phenom.

Does anyone remember:
a. his stats from the HV71 junior team?
and b. why he didn't continue in Sweden?

EP had him at 4 points in 4 games at J20 level, and 2 points in a single J18 game. Pretty sure he did not continue in Sweden because Covid shut down the junior leagues for quite a while, and then the WHL season started up.
