I could have done without the taunting but... well done, young man, well done.

taunting by whom, the SC bench? looks like he was getting chirped by the bench. yeah, he probably shouldn't have done a fly-by of the opposing bench. but minor stuff.
4th. in league scoring now. finishing strong and in top the top 3 looks to be very doable. too bad no playoff games. but a few weeks to recoup and then back at it to for the rejigged WJC in August. I'm conflicted as to whether or not play the u18 tournament. normally I'd say yes, but given a choice, I'd prefer he play the U20 August games.

I just don't want to see someone (with no NHL future) take a run at him because they were taunted.

I'm not against the idea of going back to the U18s in theory, but his dominance in the knockout stages last year indicates a possible waste of time for him.

Why would he have to choose between the U-18’s and the U20’s? It’s rare for HC to send someone back to U-18’s after playing at the U20 level but usually the U20 studs are on long CHL playoff runs and can’t make it anyways. I think they should bring him along to the Mens Worlds instead of the U18’s tbh.

Is it just me or does Bedard actually seem a bit under hyped? He’s having a better draft-1 season than McDavid. Yes Bedard is still getting lots of hype, but nowhere close to the level of hype McDavid got at the same age.

I think a lot of people are concerned about his size - or lack thereof.

Probably because he's not considered to be as good of a prospect as McDavid was. It's not so much about the production, I don't think it ever even was about that with McDavid. Just ridiculous hands, skating, and hockey IQ combination.

It's also true that Bedard has size concerns. McDavid at 6'1" had strong size and no concerns, Bedard being 5'9" gives some concern.

I guess the size thing is fair. But it seems rather likely he’ll end up around 5’11’’ 200lbs which isn’t an issue at all.

I was suggesting he be taken to the Olympics. But he wasn't physically ready for that.

HC considers him a part of the U20 group now. It's not just rare to go back to U18, I don't think it's ever happened (correct me if I'm wrong)

I like the idea of sending him to the Worlds.

He's a u17 player... In no world is that too old to play at u-18s.

Pats is not a playoff team, a bit different from players who were playing playoffs and competing for Memorial Trophy.

I don't think you're wrong, it does seem to be something of a Hockey Canada rule. I think it's a dumb rule, but since the WJC is rejigged for August, CB can skip the U18s and rest up, catch his breath and hit it hard mid July.

I don't think the WHC is a good idea for a 16 year old.
