So far Bedard has showed nothing in his junior career that Michkov wouldn't have matched. That is not to say that he is not an outstanding prospect, they both are, but indeed Bedard has not separated himself from his closest peer. If anything he was lagging behind until recently.

The only real head-to-head they have had is the U18s last summer which both were impressive and seemed like a push once you looked into their scoring. In Bedard's W career, he is the leader in GPG and PPG since he joined the league. Statistically, he is matching McDavid at age 15/16.

Really will not have a clue until they play in the NHL. Both appear to be goalscorers first so the comparison could be a bit cleaner than OV/Crosby. Both seem to be in the "Next One" level so far, maybe the best two since McDavid and are clearly the two best prospects that are coming into the league (possibly)/same draft year since OV/Crosby.

And how do you know he would have matched it?

They are close but Bedard is almost a full year younger. If Michkov is the best non North American prospect since Ovi and Bedard is matching him but doing it a year earlier - it’s pretty crazy.

Tbh, his 16 year old season is arguably better than McDavid's. Mind you, Tavares' season was better than both so things can change quick. But he's trending towards that G word.
Can't wait for the *G* word to be used in every thread next year like it was after McDavid got drafted. Haven't seen it being thrown arround in a while

Canada has had so many "misses" with players like LAF and QB, lately, I hate to get my hopes up.

All those top Canadian prospects will likely take off but... I keep my expectations low.
