Oh, they have two centers playing wing with a winger playing center. Then Dubinsky just takes the puck and starts doing what he wants and pretty well puts the blinders on. Bedard didn't try to take as many shots this game and instead looked more for open players as Red Deer covered him well. But there were still many missed opportunities that with smarter players on the ice, would have probably seen better results. Is it Bedard going on a cold streak or bad coaching having him out of position?
Bedard has had occasional looks at wing before IIRC, is something looking wrong or is it too soon to say anything?
In Paddock's defense, Kemell was not rated near as high when he was drafted and his Liiga start was a bit of a surprise. Defintelty hurts, but he did try to pick someone highly skilled who might be interested in playing with Bedard.Choosing Kemell was a dumb move, because there was almost zero chance he was reporting. But you have guys like Petrovsky, Rohrer, Lysell and others playing significant roles. Just baffling they couldn’t find a winger to help him. Wright reached another level 2 years ago when Chromiak came over, Bedard should have too.
I seriously don’t understand how Regina’s FO couldn’t convince an import forward to come over to play with Bedard. They also picked Alexander Suzdalev, who played on HV71 with Bedard last year, but he ultimately made the decision to stay home from what I've heard. Though i feel Paddock may have also wanted to sit on Kemell just incase. Not sure they were able to hold on to both their rights. I think the import rules have been a lil weird and different the past couple seasons, so I'm not sure entirely.
Yes it is I know, but it’s also about knowing the player particularly. But than again, some selections that happen make no sense at all and are just done for the purpose of it. For example, Eagles selecting Nemec. From my understanding Columbus wanted Svozil in the CHL, they have now done the same with Knazko. I’ve always thought that the import draft should be later on, closer to training camp and after the HGC. Perhaps next year they could find a complementary winger to play with Bedard, I’m sure lots would want toDrafting import guys is more of a crapshoot than anything. They were lucky to get Szovil to report. It's about personal connections, as well as agents, or a good history of having imports. You'd think the Pats GM would use Bedard as an attractor but it doesn't seem that way.
I feel so bad for Bedard right now. Regina blowing a 4-1 lead and Bedard is still being forced into the same position with the same linemates hurting his game.
At least Struch gets his way which is all he cares about.
Looks like they finally put him with Howe, and guess what he responds with two.
So glad they figured out Bedard needed playmakers and not guys looking to dominate on their own. Hopefully this renewed offense continues.

Is he in the ilk of crosby and Mcdavid, or is he more of a matthews/stamkos level of prospect?

The best description I've seen is that Bedard is Michkov+.
Right now it looks like Michkov is as good as two Bedards...
The main difference between Michkov and Bedard is IQ. You may argue that Bedard is the better skater and shooter, but Michkov's IQ is on another level, which is more important. He really reminds Crosby, but a winger variant.
