People using his TOI and “opportunity given” as a detractor, despite the fact he is almost literally the only forward teams are watching on their game tape real and who they line match against, and he is still torching teams to the tune of hitting back of the net 7 times in his last 7 games (one didn’t count).

He was the youngest player since Gretzky to score 4 goals in a game at the WJC. Now he’s the youngest player since the 1940s to score 4 points in a game. This kid is blowing passed expectations, and at this point anyone who says anything different is just a contrarian.

As it should be

Absolutely great talent and you can see he will be a top 3 player in the league very soon (a year and half or so at most)

Watching the hawks games I liked Perry, Tyler Johnson play

Didnt like Hall, Donato, and Riechel as much as I thought I would

I knew watching AA would be a sore, low IQ player

He is finally getting accustomed to the pace of the NHL and is getting over those rookie jitters he knows he belongs now. I know the hawks are tanking but they should look to get another top six wing with some vet experience
Especially since Hall effectively doesn't exist

Hall is better as the main guy on his own line because he plays with some tunnel vision it would be better for Bedard when hall comes back for him to be on a separate line to try and cause a mismatch and have a line take some workload off of bedard it's evident that Bedard needs a better supporting cast but it is surprising how he is able to make things work with any linemate as of the moment. He has the "I just want to win and hate to lose no matter what" attitude and an insatiable drive and desire to be the best like Crosby, ovi, McDavid and Mackinnon that will make him one of the best if not the best player in a few years time I just hope for the sake of hockey that the Hawks don't manage to royally screw up the rebuild like the Oilers did even though drai ended up being a huge gem. They should definitely figure out that d-core as priority no.1 and no.2 focus on a goalie as of right now management shouldn't sit on their hands and wait but also shouldn't make desperate trades and sign horrible contracts

Everytime I see the Bedard underdeveloped BS it triggers me a bit.

Does that kid look under developed to anyone? For 18 freaking years old? He's not even that big up top and is close to 190 or whatever right now, which means a ton of his mass is in his legs.

He will continue to get bigger, stronger, faster and he's not afraid of contact as it is right now. Will take the body and lay some hits. Cernak put him on his butt last night, but the size differential didn't cause Bedard to shy away or back down.

Also, good grief this play:

I also liked how people said his speed wasn't good for his size while simultaneously comparing him to McDavid no he is not as fast but skating is a legit asset of his and like you said he is not underdeveloped he will be fine by his age 24/25 year he could be at 210 pounds while getting faster that's what 20 pounds in 7 years which is doable for dude who takes his off ice training just as serious as on ice

I think most people missed how freaking amazing that pass was. Wish we could get a nice slow mo replay of it.

Uh, yes. In that pic, he looks obviously underdeveloped. Of course he's fit and all, but he still looks like a fit teenager, not like a fit man. There's a pretty big difference. And you can see it on the ice, he struggles to hang with the others physically. Might require a couple of years.

dude... what?

He's not better than AM, McDavid, Drai, Kuch, MacKinnon, Crosby, Makar, Hughes, etc. nor will he been in a YEAR AND A HALF AT MOST

So, he's underdeveloped compared to men with years spent inside an NHL organization with all the resources that come with it, got it. What a revelatory observation you've made.

The discussion that prompted my post was the comparison with Jack Hughes (and quite frankly most young NHL prospects). He's not underdeveloped relative to his peers, quite the opposite infact.

Buddy plays on a PP with two guys who came into the league before he was born. He’s doing great with what he has.
100%. I love the results so far. Better than I was expecting given his team circumstances.

Well I think he's meeting expectations if anything not blowing past them this about what most expected. Would've expected 100+ points if he went to a team with good offensive talent.
