This kid is something else. Generational goal scoring talent. Maybe more.
I really like his character as well. Not boring, not robotic, pure charisma

He looks very promising

A bit more assist production and he can be entering that generational production that 87, 8 and 97 had

Extremely impressed offensively and neutral zone

A bit of work to clean up in the defensive zone but that will come as he ages and hopefully the hawks have some more promising defenseman in the system coming up

Considering his team and linemates I wouldnt set the expectations too high in the assist department.

Guy is on pace to break Wayne Gretzky’s record for goals scored by an 18 year old, and leads the league in 5v5 goals 4 months after his 18th birthday. Guy doesn’t need to do anything for his stats to already be generational.

I’ll take the heat for this, but at this point it’s true. Bedard’s start to his career has been better than McDavids. Sure he doesn’t skate as fast or “look as dominant”, but what he just continues to do is have more impressive production.

Bedard: 9 goals, 13 points in 13 games
McDavid: 5 goals, 12 points in 13 games

Keep in mind, McDavid has prime Hall as well as Eberle, RNH, and Draisaitl to help him as well. Nick Foligno currently has the most shared points with Bedard on Chicago, followed by Kurashev.

Bedard had the more impressive production in the CHL, then the WJC, and now 13 games in with the NHL.

His vision and passing is also elite - he just doesn't have anyone to finish his passes. My dream is for the Hawks to somehow draft Cole Eiserman next June and put that pure sniper on Bedard's wing.
When he was in the dub I noticed people were sleeping on his playmaker ability because he could just dummy players in that league I believe I called him a player that would be elite in all facets of offense and to top it off his defense so far has been better than I thought

Can’t wait to see this kid absolutely incinerating teams on the PP when other teams will have to respect Korchinski, Moore, Nazar and Celebrini/Eiserman/Catton/Demidov as other options and give him space.
Hoping for Leshunov, then adding a top pick forward from the next draft but we'll see

I wonder what Bedard would have done against San Jose in the days when they were getting drubbed 10-1 and 10-2. It’s a shame we won’t get to see that. But I’m glad for San Jose’s sake they’ve improved a lot.
