I feel like he's going to break out with a hat trick or 4 goal game or something and take off from there. As I said before he's struggling with faceoffs and physicality and pro aspects like that but he's getting the scoring chances. Lots of them. He'll figure it out.

Chicago is shockingly bad. Colorado is very good. Not a good combination if you're hoping to see Bedard break out.

The Avs are ALL over the kid.

His faceoffs are improving.

**

Dad watching his kid being obnoxious in the stands. He's so proud.

"It's called a confidence game. Why? Because you give me your confidence? No. Because I give you mine." - David Mamet

Connor looked lost out there, tonight. He lacks... "confidence".

His teammates didn’t do him any service but I thought he was bad tonight, turned the puck over 3/4 times on exits and entries and was not swinging low enough on breakouts and regroups to be in a position to get the puck. Made two decent defensive plays, one on Rantanen, the other diving in front of his own net in the second period, but apart from that pretty anonymous

Watched the entire game. Now this was his worst game of his young season.
Looked dead tired, had no legs. - the entire game

Made 2 good plays, other than that, many mistakes, got hit again too often.
- one double tally hit

That last shift of his, in the last minute of the game, holy hell it was bad,
like i said above, dead tired, he was barely moving at the end.

Yeah you’re right he only led the league in 5v5 scoring chances, tied for the lead in all scoring chances after 4 games.

Got ran off the tracks tonight. Happens.
led the league in 5v5 chances....do people really buy that? I don't. He's going to be sick...but his game smells of a last plce team just letting 1 puck hog do whatever he wants.

That's not a new experience for Bedard, he was like that a lot in juniors when his team was outmatched/ down by a few. He seems to save his second gear for when it's needed most and when his team is rolling.

Hawks really need to get him support though. I doubt he's getting much development without players on the ice to give him the time and space needed to develop.

The stats are easily findable (naturalstattrick) but let's be real they're not of any value to you since you've already made up your mind about Bedard as a player.

So looking forward to Bedard on Team Canada in May when he will get to have some decent teammates.

Note to Hockey Canada - don't bother extending an invite to anybody in Chicago other than Bedard.

I knew pretty much he'd be on his own with little support, but good grief it is worse than I imagined.

I generally like the coaching work Richardson has done in the past, but not a fan of what he has got going on here.

There’s a thread on the mains asking if Jack Hughes will be second best in the league guys. A little patience here

Drawing conclusions this early on is so amateur

i agree with you its too soon to draw any conclusions but today, from what we've seen so far, his impact on the ice is net negative while other propects are net positive,

but its too soon, all he needs to do is convert those shots, he has yet to score from range and that was supposed to be his greatest asset, we haven't seen it so far

Its a little unfortunate for Bedard for when Chicago landed him. They really just started their strip down re-build so there is barely any talent for him to play with. This isnt a Matthews situation where hes comin in with 2 other highly profiled rookies plus some other solid vets. Or McDavid coming in with several other 1st overall and high draft picks.

Its basically him, Jones, and Korchinski. People are crazy if theyre actually concerned about him lol.

Ovechkin and Crosby got much less help in their rookie year and they were fine. Bedard is just simply not at that level.
It's that bad. He has about the same help as Ovi and Sid did. Also the schedule makers are not being kind to the Hawks. They're facing playoff team after playoff team to start the season.

Hall is a shell of what he used to be
