Should easily be PPG this season. He's still playing like an amateur at times and putting up points in his sleep.

Yeah.

He’s putting up points now, couldn’t imagine when he’ll actually find his game.

The amount of pressure people are putting on him is insane. It’ll come but it’s going to come naturally, as he fills out physically. Unfortunately we’re gonna have morons calling him a “bust”during the year, and that’s just ridiculous. 18 year olds don’t normally show the flashes he does.

He’s probably going to be much closer as a rookie, to what Jack Hughes was, than to what McDavid was.. I’ve watched 3 complete games now. The last two against a Detroit team playing mostly young players, especially on the blue line, and yes, it’s true… he has a couple of moments where you see something special, but then you don’t hear anything from him for a period. Most of his moments are on the man advantage too. And yes, his goal was an empty netter. That doesn’t mean he’s not gonna be a super star player though.

Those few inches McDavid had at 18 compared to Bedard, is huge. When you watched McDavid in his first preseason, it was him making plays left and right. That’s just not the case with Bedard, but it doesn’t mean anything long term. It’s just physical nature. He needs to fill out. Just like Jack Hughes had to. You can see how great he’s gonna be when they’re on the PP, but 5x5 he struggles some. He’s learning to play in a league where there’s no space out there.

He’ll get better every game as he physically matures, and gains experience playing against NHL talent... Give the kid a break. He’s not a bust if he’s not McDavid right off the bat.

Crosby made his pre-season debut Sept 21st, 2005. He played against the Bruins. The score was 5-4, he had one assist.

After 3 pre-season games he had 1 goal and 1 assist. The goal coming on a 5 on 3.
After 3 pre-season games, Bedard has 1 goal and 4 assists.

Bedard out here embarrassing 18yo Sid.

He's not going to get pushed around like Hughes did in his first year...too good at evading hits.
