That is the definition of comparing

no it's not you prole. Saying Bedards shot looked like Matthews on an individual goal is not comparing them as overall players. You don't need to quote my post with a clumsy "a more elite Matthews," I wasn't commentating on how his overall impact or how his career will go.

Buddy you compared his shot to matthews. Take the L. If it wasn’t a comparison you would have just said he has an elite shot.

His shot is just on a different level then most. 99% of NHLers would have tried to go short side top self from there. That goalie was probably like WTF, I can't believe he tried that and actually put in there.
the way he changes the angle and releases at the same time with velocity has pretty much never been done before. it's like an evolved matthews shot. and it's all based on where the goalie and defense are positioned initially...so if he gets the shot off and it goes where he wants, it's just going to go in and there's not much anyone can do about it.

I honestly think he has the best wrist shot in the world already. Possibly of all time. As an 18 year old. Which is crazy to think but my question is how much more can he improve it? Can he reach the same level of separation from the league that McDavid has when it comes to skating and controlling the puck at high speeds? I'm excited to see how far he can push his shot and how much can he improve his skating as well. A 25 year old Bedard with possibly elite skating and an even better shot would be a crazy sight.

As a Hawks fan I feel at a disadvantage when discussing Bedard because I really want to gush about him and his shot like other do but I know how much reading "homer" posts are annoying so I temper my enthusiasm a bit - don't want to come across as a bragging pudwhack.

But wow - pretty exciting.

Don't pollute the boards with your d1ckhead attitude and 'take the L' bs. He said the shot looked like a Matthews shot, that's it.

Nobody needs you coming in and flashing your semantics badge around like a tough guy.
