Don't bother, the poster you're talking to is known to be a massive homer.

so two people agree with me....

its pretty obvious... Hansen Burrows Edler and Higgins when they're going top speed they are definitely faster than Horvat... especially Hansen ..how is that even debatable?

Horvat may win a race going hashmarks to near blue line, but he wont win a race going hashmarks to the far blue line against those guys.

Edler gets beat with speed pretty often, doubt he is faster then Bo. Probably one of the slowest nucks tbh

Took him 31 games to get his first 8 points he's now gotten another 8 in his last 11 while seeing a significant rise in ice time he's been on fire as of late :handclap:

Edler gets 'beat with speed' because he gets caught flat-footed. He makes a bad read and does pivot in time.

Once he gets going, he moves really well

If I'm picking a defencemen to beat him, it's easily Tanev. Tanev is quick off the block and is the only dman on Van that can catch a player if they have an edge.

Well he's not slow. first couple steps aren't great, but he has a good top gear. Even I was surprised with this:

Horvat was third out of six competitors in the fastest skater event (a lap around the rink), with a time of 14. 679 seconds, behind winner Jannik Hansen (14. 352 seconds) and Shawn Matthias (14.477 seconds).

Horvat is not slow at all, he is actually quite fast for a big guy now.

His skating improved, mostly his side to side movement.

Just gonna keep bumping this IDC if it gets annoying. He's amazing so far.

Well, I guess it doesn't really matter but I'd hope Horvat can be a likeable player by fanbases league-wide. Hyping and pumping his tires every day will probably leave a bitter taste in a lot of peoples mouths. But yes, he has been amazing.

hes only 19. built like a bull. he'll have the wholeoffseason to train and get bigger/stronger. hard to knock off the puck. goes to the dirty areas. bergeron/toews light IMO. this kids got game. faceoff game is good.coach wd already puts him in key situations ala last mintue to defend the lead already. hes getting a chance on the powerplay. if he finished the season off with 25 or 30pts thats a success for him.

It's a really good sign that Horvat's name is getting around the league now for the 2016 World cup young stars team. Very positive comments from other coaches around the league like AV, Cooper, Trotz, and quin.

More importantly, players around the league are noticing this kid, from the canucks alone who are comparing him to a young toews (which is early imo), and other players around the league like the bruins who said he reminds them of bergeron, and should not take his age for granted.

His development should continue to progress quickly, since his work ethic is extremely high.

The hype train is a little much after a hot streak. I don't think this level of production is sustainable.

But Horvat is a great player, and he is going to be a pivotal piece of the Canucks organization for years to come. I see him becoming an elite 2nd line center who plays the tough matchups in all situations, and pots 40-50 points a year. Maybe getting 50-60 during his prime.

A valuable player that you need to win.

Kudos to the Canucks organization for deft drafting and a great coaching hire. They will turn it around quickly from the damage Gillis did.

It's not really a hot streak though. Well if 20 games is. He's been playing the exact same way for a while now. At 19, and already found consistency in both his work ethic and level of play, is just extremely exciting. The guy is a future 1st/2nd(depending on depth) line centre work horse. You stick your most offensively gifted winger with him.

Mike Gillis made 1 bad move, meanwhile other teams miss the playoffs 4 years in a row and still have a job. I highly doubt Jim Benning can replicate the success Mike Gillis had. MIke Gillis was also not responsible for John Torterella. I hope the Aquillini's feel stupid for meddling in the GM's position.

The kid is not slowing down. Another goal, but his defensive work is really what's standing out with him.

I can't believe this kid is 19 years old.

He's been our best player the last ten games or so

Similar to Monahan's rookie year for Calgary

Daniel Sedin: "I’m not going to lie. I’m surprised, to be honest with you. Young guys usually they can produce offensively, on and off, but to be that consistent defensively is just … it’s amazing to watch.”

Hansen “A lot of young players have the skill and finesse and maybe they have the head, too, but he has the size,” Hansen said of Horvat’s bull-like frame. “He doesn’t get out-muscled down low or on draws and that’s why he gets relied on in crucial moments.

Alex Burrows apparently wants Canucks fans to have absurdly high expectations for Bo Horvat: “He reminds me of a young Jonathan Toews. The way he wins faceoffs, the way he is responsible defensively, the way he battles along the boards, he really understands the game,”
High praises for the kid
