He's progressing quite nicely, although he didn't look quite as sharp last night. I'm hoping for him to move up a line and possibly get better wingers a possession driver like Higgins or Burrows would do wonders for the kid.

After all the "rofl Canucks drafted Horfat over Nichushkin'!!1!1!1!1" comments I don't think you'd find more than 5 Canucks fans who would move Horvat for Nichushkin

Yeah i mean Nichushkin doesn't even have a point this year  :sarcasm:

Horvat scores!

That's 8 points in 10 games for him. So good right now.

Best prospect we've had in a long, long time. Completely worth the price we paid to get him.

What a shift in the third period of a big time 4 point game versus a team Canucks are battling for a playoff spot.

This guy may never put up the same amount of points as the guys he was drafted around (Max Domi, Nichushkin, etc.), but no way in hell are they as clutch. Horvat just has big game player written all over him and he can positively impact a game in so many different ways, what an absolute stud.

I disagree, he is putting up good production as a rookie that leads to believe he can be a good offensive producer as he develops.

His determination and strength lately is a lot of fun to watch. He is the epitome of BEASTMODE right now. So much fun to see him doing so well...

Played 15:52 today.

career high in ice time. expect him to start playing around 15 minute of ice time rather then 10 minutes of ice time like he was a week ago.

his development has caught the organization off gaurd. NO one expected it, even Jim Benning didn't think he was good enough to make the team. Last time the Canucks had a 19 year old play for he was nowhere near Bo's Level. He might be a second line player faster then we predicted.

Just keeps getting better instead of hitting the rookie wall. Looks like the real deal. Huge goal tonight.

He is our second line center right now. Basically.

for playing with 4th liners if he can hit 30 points this year he has 1c potential.

His cerebral game did not devlop in junior because he was focused on two way play and now it's unreal the elitep lays he makes every game with 4th liners.

His skating was his biggest weakness and now he's one of the fastest skaters on the ice, his ability to learn and progress is outlier

Kid is ready to make a name for himself, book it

LOL lets not get too crazy. He is not one of the fastest skaters on the ice.
I would say that his top speed is actually below average...but his quickness is above average. His first few steps are quite impressive...he looks like he practices a lot of stop and go stop and go drills...
When he hits full stride, there are many players faster than him on the Canucks. Hansen, Higgins, Kassian, Edler, Hamhuis, Burrows, ..they all move better when going full out.

He's very good and easily projects as a two-way top 6 center based on what he's doing as a 19 year old...but keep a shred of credibility and refrain from looking like a homer

The more I think about it, the more I think Rod Brind'Amour is a really good comparison for him.

Came here to post the same thing, Brind'Amour seems like a really apt comparison for Bo. I don't know if he'll ever put up the same numbers as Rob did early in his career (and for those two years after the lockout), but if Bo can carve out a career even close to Brind'Amour's the Canucks will be really happy with the result.

Debatable and outright wrong in my opinion

have seen him go from what you're describing in game 1-15, to now game 40 where he is flat out faster than everyone

If anything, he has never stick handled this fast, because he's never been able to skate this fast, so any regression in speed is going to be negligible, he's 19 and there's no reason it won't continue to improve as he gets pro NHL training

definitely won't, but stylistically he's similar

calm down a bit lol. he's got power in his stride, but he's not faster than those guys.
