Nice second goal today. That toe-drag he loves so much won't translate that well to the NHL though...

That being said, he's having a fantastic season, has all the tools to become a solid high-end second line center.

The toe drag is a great move but only when a defender overcommits, if you youtube nhl toe drags you will see it's still a very useful/effective move in the NHL, but you don't see it as often because well the defenders are better and don't overcommit as much.

Now that move was nasty!!!! LOVE IT!!!

Hopefully. I think Horvat a few years into his NHL career will produce like Getzlaf. Less goals but a load of assists.

Getzlaf is arguably the most dominant player in the game when he is on, right up there with Malkin, Ovi, Datsyuk and Crosby. I've got sky high expectations for Bo! but he'll never produce assists and points over PPG like Getz because Getz is one of the best passers in the game.

I said it before and I'll say it again, Horvat's high ceiling point is a guy like Toews, and I honestly think he has a solid chance at hitting that and producing at a similar rate and in a comparable fashion to Toews if he can maintain progression. He's got a higher offensive ceiling than a guy like Bergeron, but Bergeron and O'Reilly are offensive comparables a notch down from Toews he could end up like too if he doesn't hit his ceiling.

Regardless, that caliber of offense (60-82 points), to go with elite defensive presence and outstanding face off ability, leadership qualities as well, clutch scoring ability... And to get that player at 9th overall... Amazing.

Naw he'll be like a bigger Bergeron with more offensive upside. Selke conversation year in year out.

Bergeron has seasons of 73, 70 and 64 points. He's no slouch offensively despite what the the good ole', "What have you done for me lately", test says.

Kesler is not a canuck for life, if hes not traded then i bet he chases the cup elsewhere at the end of his contract.

uhm ok? Hes lived here since he was like 20 and raised his family here and loves it in vancouver. But ok ill take your word for it

Kesler will be easily

Not sure it's "easily" him for a big reason. I don't think his career will be much longer than the Sedins, considering both styles of play (sedins for longevity, and Kesler's rougher style wearing him down more). Although it's far more likely than naming a prospect as our future captain which I find ridiculous. It wasn't that long ago when Hodgson was our future captain.

But...you didn't get that player 9th overall. You got Bo Horvat, OHL player. Let's sloooow down a bit.
