In case some folks haven't seen him play yet, here's some clips from his games so far (prior to tonight's contest vs. the Habs):

Great skater with good offensive instincts. The most surprising part for me was how engaged he is in the corners. He's looking more and more confident with each passing game too. Excited to watch him tonight.

He’s definitely been the bright spot for Columbus this season.

His speed is on display clearly and you can see how he’s going to push the play/pace in his prime.
Just about perfectly build for todays league and can’t help but to wonder about all the IQ concerns people were throwing around.

Can’t be anything else than trying to find something to cry about

Fantilli has been centering Marchenko and Voronkov and they have arguably been CBJs best players since.

Fantilli is now at 7 pts in 13 games.

You can see the talent when he plays. He looks to have a very bright future and CLB fans should be very excited. it will take some more time but they are assembling good young players.

He hasn't even played significant time with Laine or Gaudreau. He spent a few games with Laine and I believe he's on the PP with Gaudreau a little as of recently, but most of his production have been with players lower in the lineup, hell in this game even his line has some of the lowest 5v5 time even though they looked great.

The really exciting part is that his BFF from Michigan and ex linemate and CBJ 2nd round pick, Gavin Brindley is leading the NCAA in goals and is 3rd in points. I cannot wait to see them reunited. I doubt it'll happen, but there's a possibility we drafted back to back hobey Baker winners in the same draft.

You know CLB will give Brindley every chance to earn a spot and at that point it's up to him. I'm glad that things are starting to look up for CLB. Your fan base has been long suffering and deserves some brighter times.

Nothing but joy when watching his game. Its not that hard to see why CBJ fans will be happy with him even if Carlsson and Michkov will hit their ceiling. It looks like Fantilli ceiling isn't far away behind the mountain. Hope he will like to play with Jackets and will play full of his career there. Fans deserve it.

If Fantilli hits his ceiling there’s not a player drafted after him that could be more valuable to a team.

Fantilli with Carlsson are ideal C’s for todays NHL.

One player at minimum. Because generational players are most important no matter who they are - centers, wingers or defensemen. Kucherov case. 1.3-1.4ppg wingers over 1-1.1ppg points centers. 80-90 points defensemen over 80-90 points centers(I like Hischier a lot, I dont want to change him\trade him as potential Selky winner two way 0.9-1ppg center, but Makar is just better). But we will not start this conversation again. Fantilli is great and he was exactly waht CBJ needed on the draft. Even if some center or winger after him on the draft will produce more and be little better as a players.

Let that player play in the NHL before you decide if he will be better or not.

My point is that we don't know what that ceiling will be as he's playing in a historically weak league.

We don't know if he will be any good in the NHL until he arrives.

Until then, you should bet on the player that is already here and making an impact.

An impact player in the NHL at 19 > a player who takes 3 years to get there even if that player hits his "ceiling."

A historically weak league take is bullsh1t.

Overall you are making bad take. Fantilli and Carlsson didnt hit their ceiling too. And even if they will not, they will play better than they are now, but they are not now. Your argument can be used in any direction, mainly against you.

Michkov ceiling is Kucherov or may be Kucherov+, Fantilli and Carlsson are franchise centers potentially. This is what their results in their enviorment and their skiils can tell us. It s okay to have first line top-10 league center, even if someone have Kucherov. Or Michkov, who is breaking records all over he is playing.

Yup. Clearly four elite guys in the top of that draft.

I just don’t understand why you have to downplay him, when he’s done nothing but progress and look awesome.

& no, you don’t take any winger over the best C’s (top 3/5) in the game when you are building a team

Yap. All of them did nothing but good. Im not downplay nor Fantilli, nor Michkov, nor Carlsson. I think all of them are great choices for their teams, all of them deserve to be #2 picks in this draft for different reasons, I think all of them will be firepower for their franchise and fans of all of the three franchises should be happy with their picks.
Reason why every any hits in the direction of all three should be stopped.

Michkov seems like a decent kid outwardly and in interviews. Hope he does well in the league. The constant whining about him not going two in so annoying. Can't even discuss a guy playing well in the NHL in Fantilli because CBJ "should have taken Michkov" Its annoying.

Fantilli looks great out there. Seems like the best forward on CBJ at this point already.

Yeah you keep downplaying his ceiling.

It’s really tiresome.

People just can’t accept that prospects/young players develop at different rates and they could overtake the x player as more valuable

Fantilli is already tied for the lead in points for Columbus
He’s going to bring a versatile physical 200ft game in his prime with elite shot& skating.

He’s ceiling is a top 3C in the game
