Fantilli had a good game. He creates a lot of time and space. Korchinski saved a goal on him.

You could make an argument for him being Columbus most creative offensive player already.

You just notice him every game offensively

Both those highlights are terrific. He seems like he's already the best forward in Columbus, possibly due to Laine injuries and Gaudreau slumping however, is that fair?

Gaudreau has been solid lately. The team finally has a few forwards looking good now but Fantilli is steadily improving. Definitely holding onto the puck a bit longer and letting plays develop

It doesn’t matter.

They both look like future franchise 1C’s
I'm really hoping he gets Laine going and they can start feeding off each other. And Voronkov has been steadily improving all season. If he can cut out the stupid penalties we got someone special.

paywall. but it seems lode management is making sense for Carlsson right now. Just stat watching fantilli, i wonder if they are utilizing him correctly? it makes more sense to pair him with Gaudreau no? at least it helps with communications between whistles.

Fantilli has been a bright spot for Columbus, dangerous every game, creates plenty of scoring chances.

I don’t have lot of issues with how he’s been handled, earlier in the season he should have had more offensive opportunities based on quality of play

When reading up on him, it seems to be consensus that hes generating chances, just not showing up on scoreboardrecently. is it a matter of linemates not finishing? chemistry? or quality of chances? thanks.

The club had bigger problems in getting Gaudreau and Laine going. Fantilli was on a great line with Voronkov and Marchenko that scored almost every game, but they just had to break it up to get other units going, which worked for Gaudreau at least. Fantilli is now paired with Laine who just had a concussion and has been the worst forward on the team. Fantilli has had some games where he has been swept on faceoffs and the line hasn't generated anything. Finishing isn't really an issue.

You really should try watching him play. He’s been amazing. The puck just isn’t going in. He’s forechecking and back checking hard. He’s involved every time he’s on the ice. He’s driving the play on his line.

I still prefer Fantillis game, although Carlsson is definitely closer than pre-season rankings thought. Leo does have a much better environment to grow in though, so I wonder if that will hamper Fantillis development or just stop him from pumping his numbers. Fantilli has to play with the dysfunctional CBJ team with both Laine and Gaudreau struggling terribly. Haven't watched him in a little while, but he often seemed like the most impactful forward.

Gaudreau has been great lately, I wish Fantilli was on a line with him.

Fantilli and Carlsson will be compared throughout their careers.

Columbus fans are going to try to dunk on me, but 10 points in 24 games. His SH% is low, and with a normal SH% he could be at or a little above .5PPG, but he’s not playing up to expectations. The problem isn’t minutes or linemates. They aren’t playing playing him 13 minutes on the third line with no PP.

Fantilli was supposed to contend for the Calder. Forget the Calder. He might not hit 30 points. Half of the people on this website were comparing him to Eichel for stupid reasons. Eichel had 56 points in 81 games in his rookie season.

He could go on a tear, but it’s looking like a bad decision to pass up on Michkov.

Send him to the World Juniors - that's okay with me.

The problem is he’s playing with Laine.

I mean you could also watch the games and learn what you're talking about.

Or just take note of the wild swings in his underlying stats, it's entirely linemate driven. The Voronkov - Fantilli - Marchenko line carried play wonderfully and then they have to break that up to get other players going, and Fantilli gets stuck in the Laine vortex.

I'm sorry but your constant insertion of Michkov into other players' threads is just embarrassing at this point. He can't play in the NHL for another 3 years and currently has some worse per minute stats than Daniil But. I'm not sure but I think Arizona might have also made the right choice taking Simashev over Michkov.

The problem with Fantilli is his PDO is low right now. It should rebound.

Meanwhile, if Michkov were actually serious about being an NHL player, he wouldn't have played mind games with teams in a position to draft him and he wouldn't be wasting his time in Russia right now. He might have the skill but he totally lacks commitment.

Remember when Pavel ranked Charlie Stramel 3rd overall last year around this time and refused to come off of it?

Coming in here to bash Fantilli on his point totals.. dude has been great in the games I have watched which is 6.

The constant whining about Michkov is so annoying. Go anoint him the next king of the Metro in his own Michkov thread.
