Tonight's game should show just how wrong you are here. Look at the team they played, Number 2 in the countryHe is facing a lot of teenagers, the top 5 scorers ages on his team for instance are: 18, 19, 20, 19 & 18. Sure NCAA goes up higher in age than other Junior leagues but the high end guys aren't hanging around there until 24. They're out by 21.

Here is who they iced for the National Semifinal, broken by their year of birth, and their age as of December 31, 2022.
Goalie:
1 2000 (22)
Defensemen:
3 1998s (24)
1 1999 (23)
2 2001s (21)
1 2003 (19)
Forwards:
2 1998s (24)
4 1999s (23)
2 2000s (22)
3 2002 (20)
1 2003 (19)
That's FIVE guys that were already 24 by the time we rang in the New Year. They were last Junior eligible in 2017-18. In general, only two guys iced in the entire lineup that were eligible to play Juniors this year.
Charlie Coyle is an ultimate example of this:There is a reason that most players who leave the NCAA for major junior light it up in the CHL much more than they did in college. It's weaker competition, because of age.
Chaz Lucius was a solid player at Minnesota, but nothing amazing, he was nowhere close to the player Fantilli was as a freshman (and was older) and he put up 15 points in 6 games in the WHL. Small sample size, I know, but thats still 2.5 PPG for a guy who the season before wasn't even PPG in college.
Charlie Coyle is an ultimate example of this:
14 points in 16 games as a college sophomore, jumps to the QMJHL and puts up 72 points in 40 games, granted on a fairly loaded team at the time.
how many pts you thin Bedard puts up in NCAA??
If he is what people think/hope he is, and if he's on a team with talent, something close to 90+ if he plays 35+ games.how many pts you thin Bedard puts up in NCAA??
You think he'd have a higher ppg in the NCAA than the WHL? Lol.If he is what people think/hope he is, and if he's on a team with talent, something close to 90+ if he plays 35+ games.
I don’t mind being wrong, no ego here I don’t follow college hockey and was just throwing a theory out there lol. He does look very oldTonight's game should show just how wrong you are here. Look at the team they played, Number 2 in the country

I think he'd have a notably higher ppg than Eichel did. You want to split hairs and say 83+ or something, go wild. You think he'd have a higher ppg in the NCAA than the WHL? Lol.
Pretty insane that you can make a case for either Fantilli or Carlsson.Fantilli won Rookie of the Year AND the Hobey Baker! Pretty great case for 2nd Overall.
Kind of funny how the presumptive top 4 this year seems to mirror the actual top 4 of 2015.Pretty insane that you can make a case for either Fantilli or Carlsson.
Not to mention someone can land Michkov at 4
Top of the draft is insane
