I doubt he'll be better than Oates. 1420 points in 1337 games is hard to beat if you aren't one of those generational kids.
True. Although, if Fantilli were to lead a team like the Blue Jackets, who have only made it out of the 1st round once, to the Stanley Cup that would be pretty legendary

Not to mention he's starting off with one of the greatest shots currently in the league glued to his hip

If those two have immediate chemistry, Fantilli could have a 70+ point rookie season and CBJ’s PP could be top-10 in the league.
Right now they are with Texier as the 3rd on their line and they all look really good together.

Also the PP is a huge question this season, as to who is the PP QB. It ran miles better with Boqvist over Z. But if Jiricek is up at all this season he will likely draw into the PP rotation somehow as well.

Much like MTL and Michkov, can’t believe Anaheim fumbled the bag and lets guy slide into the Metro. SMH

Maybe we give one of the best drafting teams in the NHL thr benefit of the doubt until these guys have played a couple years in the NHL. I’m sure you are incredibly qualified as a prospect talent evaluator, but I’m gonna have to lean Martin Madden over you.

For my money, Fantilli screams Calder upset. I don’t how sustainable PP1 is with Gaudreau or the health of Laine and Werenski but if that clicks look out. Tavares had 54 in 82 in his rookie year which I think is a good and fair comparison. He had Matt Moulson, Mark Streit and Kyle Okoposo to work with. This isn’t even close…

Fantilli has 70 pt upside in his rookie season. He's got a very polished game and the opportunity is there for the taking in Columbus. Doubt he beats Bedard for the Calder but can make it a race at least.

It seems that Laine might be our 1C this year, but Fantilli should still get 18 minutes a night or so, not sure I’d favor him to win the Calder as I don’t see the Jackets being a high scoring team

Not meant in an attacking tone, but why not high-scoring? If I coached that lineup I’d see more potential to win by scoring alot than defending better than the opposition.

While hes not the favorite its pretty realistic to have him in a group with a couple other guys behind Bedard and have a chance to atleast make it interesting. The biggest question becomes will he get PP1 time and can they figure out how to not make it suck. Also if he gets something like Texier/Jenner and Johnson as linemates thats still pretty darn good. We just watched Johnson get 40 points on a terrible team in a lesser role, I think Fantilli will have pretty good season overall and hopefully be in the conversation.

Young team. Id expect the highs to be high but that also comes with lows. They should obviously score at a significantly higher rate than a year ago though. Also with the teams goaltending they cant really go full run and gun (which is never advised anyway), definitely cant outscore their issues

How will the forward lines shake out, do you think? Is Fantilli playing center?

You don't have to troll. Since Marchenko started training after his back injury, Laine has moved to centre.

Yes and Laine and Fantilli can play center together, or possibly one will be moved to wing, or possibly one will center the second line, lots of possible permutations. So far none of the units have played more than one game together so we don't know the final combinations yet. Maybe leave this one to the hardcore Jackets fans.
