So they're playing him next to his brother. Good way to make him feel more comfortable with his Liiga debut, I guess. Will be interesting to watch this game.

Would be nice to know how he's looked other than the PP assist. From what I've understood...pretty good?
Honestly they've been given bad defensive assignments and have been hampered by Sailio. Bad thing is that we don't really have any quality left in the roster to give them for the time being.
They've been great for the game being their debut, especially Aatu who can QB a PP at his age.

I would try Koskenkorva with them -> Koskenkorva-Räty-Räty

So much for not being ready though. I thought that was just a terrific display from someone who just had his first game in the league and against probably the worst possible opponent. I didn't see him make much mistakes out there and the way he was setting guys up and QB'ing the PP was pretty crazy. With some luck had more of those shots connected, he might have just brought Kärpät back into the game at the end. Maybe tried to pass to his brother too much on the PP but at least Aku capitalized on one of those chances. Would've liked to see him shoot a bit more. His movement on the ice seemed pretty fluid, the way he kept changing direction in order to find lanes for example.

No reason not to play him come next game at least. At some point they presented some benchmarks and apparently he was the second fastest skater or had the second quickest top speed from his team or something?

Have to remember though that they (and Aatu in particular) didn't mark their man and that goal was the GWG.
They weren't bad. They weren't great. But they sure as f*** were way better than what our PP has showed the whole early season so far.

I'm not sure what exactly "made it his man" since Aatu was closing in from the other side of the rink while the forward was already in the middle of the ice (at the shooting sector). He had no time to get there and had he left his spot sooner, that would have left the right flank undefended. His brother couldn't intercept the pass true, but there was very little Aatu could've done to react and cover for him that fast. The better question is what was the defence doing really? Both of the defencemen stuck behind their guys at their own zone. :D

He did pretty well overall, far better than I expected.

So the brothers will play in 4th line at their 2nd liiga game. I wonder if comeback of Pesonen affects to their role and icetime on PP, cuz basicly they are not at that same PP unit as those top dogs. Ofc icetime and role at even strenght.

It seemed pretty obvious what they tried together (that same pattern like 4-5 times that ended once to the goal), but when theres multiple threats everywhere, is it that much easier for Ilves to read what theyr doing?

Aatus passes seems to find teammates constantly which is Rantanen-like threat (just comparison) even if they are rolling PP from different positions tho.
