Would not surprise me to see Karlsson move out and Schenn is playing #2RD next season, before being flipped as a pure rental at next year's deadline.I think the Penguins improved both from Bunting to Novak and Desharnais to Schenn, and it just cost them swapping a 2026 4th for a 2028 5th to do it. Which is a value loss but you're also likely getting better value for Schenn than Desharnais when you trade him.
I'm just a bit curious why they wanted Schenn at his age. Yes, he's an upgrade on Desharnais but he's also 35. If they flip him for more than a 4th (which I bet they could), it would make total sense and it's firmly a great job by Dubas. As is, I think it's just a good deal.
Another lesson learned: keep trading with Nashville because Barry Trotz is an idiot.
To... to flip the both of them. Right? Right???Plot twist: Dubas acquired Luke Schenn in an attempt to convince Brayden Schenn to waive his NTC to come to Pittsburgh![]()
I like him better than most here but meh. Didn't do much at ES at allBunting should have been on this team. He's literally one of the very few players that do anything.
Career 5v5 P/P60:With Novak being a slightly better player than Bunting, I will trade a 4th, for a better player/potentially more cap space.
Very hot take- not dominoes and we are keeping both.
The next 48 hours are going to be real interesting. Make or break period for the end of Sid's career.I do think this makes a lot more sense if the Pens have a taker for Karlsson or are planning to flip Schenn quickly. If not, it seems kind of like rearranging deck chairs, although Novak is an interesting player.
Well mostly the one with the Preds, couldn't really care less about the Desharnais move and I'm good with a 5th. I thought it was to start playing Koly as a regular for the rest of the season, but now, I just don't know anymore what's the vision here. One thing is for sure, and I don't really know why, but Dubas and company sure like the Preds players.... Maybe he needs to check the standings....I would love to hear Dubas explain the point to both moves today.
I mean the insiders already stated why on the Schenn front. They want to revamp the blueline and they like his grit and leadership. But if Toronto wants to go full idiot and offer a lot for him, by all means.I would love to hear Dubas explain the point to both moves today.
Last years Preds did pretty good for rebuilding, Tortz dove off the deep end during FA and ran over any sense of chemistry on the team.Well mostly the one with the Preds, couldn't really care less about the Desharnais move and I'm good with a 5th.
