It’s an odd breed these smallish, feisty but talented players. With Steve Downie we had our version of Bunting in Tampa a couple years ago.

They have the skill to play on a scoring line and do well there but instead of focusing on the hockey part they opt for the dirty path, lose their temper at the worst times, do dumb shit, become a liability for their team and eventually they find themselves out of the league leaving fans wondering about what could’ve been a respectable career. Idiots.

I actually don't mind the idea of throwing a hit there, interference or not that's just how the game goes in the playoffs, but don't hit the guy in the freaking head. Go shoulder to shoulder and either skate away or sit for 2 in the box. Now he'll be sitting for 2 in the press box

Lots of runway left in the series, but that's a stop taking calls from his agent kind of hit. Bunting was...okay....this season, does provide some value and does want to stay, but to make it work cap-wise the Leafs would have make the deal long-term. You see something like that, and his up and down play this season and see too much of a risk.

Probably one of the more predictable outcomes, based on how Bunting's played this season. Whiny little rat went over the line again, and this time it cost his team quite a bit. They were in the middle of a spirited comeback, the fans were still in it - yes, I know Tampa had just scored to make it 4-2 but it was hardly insurmountable at the time. And then Bunting goes and does the dumbest thing he could've done, completely derailing Toronto's momentum and handing Tampa the next two goals on a silver platter.

I wonder how much blame should be put at Keefe's feet, for moving him up the lineup. Not sure why he opted to do that, but it backfired spectacularly. Also not sure why he benched ROR in the third period. dude was one of the only Leafs trying out there.
