It was a bad hit, 3 games makes sense and is even what some people in the Leafs media were expecting.
Wonder when Cernak returns.
Wonder when Cernak returns.
Agreed. A really good D in Cernak is out of the series right now because Bunting deliberately targeted his head when the puck was nowhere near him. Personally I’d like to see these type of plays result in much more serious suspensions like the rest of the series. Until that happens it’s actually in Toronto’s favour to have a Bunting type player put out a top D.Yes, I am sure that this is your unbiased oppinion.
My oppinion is that injuring players away from the puck is one of the big no-mo in the game. Can you imagine how the NHL would look if players start elbowing eachother everywhere on the ice?
TBH I was expecting 1 game, maybe 2.1 game for a hit to the head, 1 game for the injury, 1 game because he is Michael Bunting
To be fair, Ehlers never touched the puck and was not eligible to be hit either. Both plays were textbook interference.Yes, I am sure that this is your unbiased oppinion.

Patience, the dossier is being prepared.Have the Leafs propaganda machine turned up any dirt or "conflicts of interest" with the DOPS yet?
If only it were soTBH I was expecting 1 game, maybe 2.
But I also believe that the NHL wanted to send a clear message: injuring players away from the puck is totally forbidden. This is probably the reason why Bunting got 3 instead of 1.
Parros has a second cousin who once filed a small claims court action against Buntings barber.Have the Leafs propaganda machine turned up any dirt or "conflicts of interest" with the DOPS yet?
There are two many differences between the two plays. To be fair, Ehlers never touched the puck and was not eligible to be hit either. Both plays were textbook interference.

I'm just saying they both were textbook interference hitting a guy who was nowhere near the puck, neither play was anything close to a hockey play. There are two many differences between the two plays.
Personally, I think that Hartman should had been suspended longer, but the two plays are soo different, you simply cannot compare.

you give 1 game in the playoffs for interferance, you savage1 game for interference, 1 game for a hit to the head, 1 game for it being an elbow as well. It's not rocket science.
If it's violent enough collision then sure. It's very dangerous to hit a guy who is far away from the puck and doesn't see it coming.you give 1 game in the playoffs for interferance, you savage
Hasn't the Orr vs. Parros fight already been discussed ad nauseam?Have the Leafs propaganda machine turned up any dirt or "conflicts of interest" with the DOPS yet?
That's true but I think it's a little presumptuous to say the Leafs would have won but for Bunting's hit. At best they would've had a chance but from my uninterested view, it looked like the Lightning were controlling that game.the challenge didn't either. they got an extra goal off of that.
But interferance, i'd make him sit for 2 minutesIf it's violent enough collision then sure. It's very dangerous to hit a guy who is far away from the puck and doesn't see it coming.
Correct me if I am wrong, but Ehlers was skating directly towards Hartman, and Hartman was eligible to be hit, wasn't he?I'm just saying they both were textbook interference hitting a guy who was nowhere near the puck, neither play was anything close to a hockey play.
The 4-2 goal sealed it. Bunting's just (re) opened the flood gatesThat's true but I think it's a little presumptuous to say the Leafs would have won but for Bunting's hit. At best they would've had a chance but from my uninterested view, it looked like the Lightning were controlling that game.
Whether it moves the needle or not, it's the right call. Complaining about consistency within the context of that opinion/fact does nothing. The suspension won't be the beginning of it, you know, I know it, everyone knows it.
We can pretend it might be, so sure, I am super excited for them moving in this direction!
