I think the biggest factor was Cernak wasn’t even remotely close to being legally eligible to hit.

Its not that crazy to expect at least a 5 game suspension if this hit happened in the regular season.

I think it does...

Exactly like in real life, running a red light is punished much more if you hit someone.

Now, one can argue that the outcome should not influence the penalty, but it is human nature not to ignore it... I highly suspect that if Cernak was back for game two, Bunting would had only got 1-2 games.

Not sure why most are complaining at this.
Bunting is a kid who has shown time and time again he can't control his emotions. Always looking to get under someone's skin but turtles when it's time to drop the gloves.
This is not he kind of person is like to see represent this club. I for one wouldn't be upset if he never puts a leaf jersey on again.
