I thought that his surgery will keep him away from action for a full year. If so, Vegas have plenty of time to make moves.

The recover time isn’t anywhere close to that long.

Pretty bad return in a vacuum but probably the best Sabres were ever going to get given the circumstances. I do have a feeling that this'll be another Joe Thronton situation, where Sabres will be declared unanimous losers of the trade but will win a cup in 7 years and Eichel won't win anything in his career.

Players want to play for teams that do whatever it takes to win.

Vegas is doing what ever it takes.

I doubt the players are terrified at all. I think most players would take comfort knowing that the team is willing to do what is necessary to win.

Good for Vegas. Always ALWAYS put team before individual.

I think this was an overpay by Vegas tbh

No team would do that because a) cap space; b) the team that loses more players in the end more probably than not gets instantly weaker.

So Vegas basically gave up Tuch and 2 question marks. That's a great trade for them. They got the center they've been dreaming about since their inception.

Unprotected 1st is pretty huge in this draft. We have 3 1st in a deep draft. I was a big krebs fan his draft year too and tuch has been great in the playoffs and he’s a local kid.

Youngish top 6 powerforward on a really good contract, bluechip NHL ready prospect, a 1st in a good draft and a 2nd.

Maybe it’s not as much as what Sabres fans had wanted but it’s a really good return.

They made the best of a bad situation and got a fair return.

Both teams take on a good amount of risk in this deal so there is no "Team X got robbed". If Eichel comes back as healthy as ever VGK gets what it needed and paid a below market price for it. But that "if" is significant .

I don't think the team will be very healthy this year. The team very much could miss the playoffs with how injured they are. Of course if they get healthy i also don't think everything fits under the cap right now. Someone has to miss the whole regular season IRC .

This could be a high pick because of Vegas injury situation.
