Once I asked about who will be first shit on the Sabres from traded ones. I think we have an answer. I think there will be more.

It is though. One of the few markets with consistently high viewer ratings for hockey playoffs when the local team hasn't been in for years.
I’m sure the fans are great like they are in just about every NHL city, market means a lot more than that. Pick 5 NHL cities you wouldnt live in in exchange for living in Buffalo? Edmonton, Winnipeg, Calgary (maybe), hmmm

Eichel never seemed to accept that he was a large part of the failures in Buffalo. He got 22+ min of playing time every game, every critical situation. And his team failed miserably. It's not all on him... he's clearly awesome, but I can't say that he elevated the players around him (outside of Skinner, who definitely owes Jack a cut).

Crosby makes every player on his team better. Jack was just the best player on his team.

I remember the US WJC team with Eichel. It was the same dilemma they had before he joined the Sabres.
Sure it was a short tournament and it didn't mean much in comparison, but it was the exact same process of delegating it all to Eichel, and it didn't work out so well (Tuch was also a part of that team).
He likes to be the focus of attention, and the do-it-all-myself attitude, but hockey is a team sport and he never seemed to understand the importance of elevating your teammates.

Vegas is a different story, there is already structure there, so this might be a good thing for him and the team, who knows. Maybe he goes the Hall route and fits right in by not being the focus of attention like it always has been back to his junior days.

If your avatar is any indication of how you dress. Then the weather in Buffalo is definitely not for you.

I love western NY. Takes me 12 minutes to get to work. I have a beautiful home that would cost a lot more elsewhere. There's also an airport that has planes that take me anywhere I want to go. It's pretty cool.

i know i've been beating on this topic, but i'm gonna keep doing it. i do not think it is a coincidence that friedman has been giving bullcrap insider updates for months and is granted the first interview/discussion with eichel post-trade. this to me is an indicator that friedman has been fish/brisson's mouthpiece all along (wittingly or unwittingly). i hereby bestow upon EF the title of shill emeritus.
i was just searching for a way to say exactly this.

Sabres teams have been burdened by inept ownership, management, and coaching for far too long. That said, the core of players who wanted out because they "want to win" - Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, McCabe - never managed to even make the playoffs.

I'm happy Adams has made a clean break with all of them, and we can proceed with a younger roster oozing with potential. Let's turn the page.

it’s crazy to me that he has to do some big interview after the trade too. just screams desperate egotism
He and his team probably wanted to get ahead of the *Eichel asked to be moved* story before that came out so he finally said it. Not surprising if you read into the *players who want to be here* mantra.

To be fair, there has been nothing coming out of Buffalo since Adams took over.

EF’s job is to report on situations around the league. In a standoff like this one, if only one side is going to talk, what do you expect things to look like?

This is maybe the most tired argument on HF boards in regards to Buffalo. Let’s pick a different drum to beat.

Really?

It seems like after almost every season he talked about things need to get better and he needs to be a big part of it.

Personally, I have no interest in living down south. I like four seasons. So, that is way more than five teams right there.

And I’m not a big city person, either. So…..

Friends, busy at work to scroll entire thread. When is Tuch expected to return?

New look. I can't see his pants, but if he is wearing some Adidas, you better just give that man a cigarette if he asks for one lest you get stabbed.
lol there is definitely a peaky blinders thing going on here for sure
