Kinda bummed cause I like Calgary and wanted Tkachuk and to root for Jack there. Plus I hate Vegas. I like Krebs though, and the picks.

not terrible but not great either. it all depends on krebs really. if he doesn’t pan out this is a shitty trade. if he does we probably win the trade considering the circumstances. only time will tell. tuch i have no faith that he can stay healthy. but there are similar concerns with jack too and he is the best player in the trade as of today

He was when he posted here. More power to him for taking and turning writing about hockey into a career, but his schtick was old nearly 20 years ago.

It is one thing to consistently try to get a fan base's collective goat, but he just isn't clever. Also, the Sabres could literally win back-to-back cups and he'd still dump on them. It's just old hat at this point.

Imagine if Eichel comes back from surgery, tears it up in the playoffs, and then VGK trades him for full value next summer. That would be a GM masterclass.

Dea and Peters both have hinted at Eichel's off-ice temperament being less than team-friendly.

I used to sort of follow the Knights - my son does and he's not pleased with the deal - so we'll have to see how that translates.

Gotta think that type of thing will be less tolerated with established veteran voices like Stone, MaxPac, Pietro, Smith, etc around. Jack's never played with those types of vets (IE, the ones that put winning pretty much above everything else period).

he was always pissy in interviews. our media didn’t do him any favors but he was also always pissy. i personally have no problem seeing him being full of himself as a realistic possibility. spoiled kid syndrome imo

Over/under 30 games before someone throws Jack's track suit in the shower

Going back to Vogl's tweet from last night about 'external pressures', Friedman had a scheduled interview with Eichel this morning. Given that this trade went through in the wee hours of the night, seems like it might be what pushed the Sabres to push it across the finish line. (that is from the Jeff Marek podcast from Friedman directly)

You speculate an awful lot.

Was he the one who wrote that dogshit Puck Daddy piece after the thing with John Scott that someone on here did a savage mockery of that was among the greatest things in HF Sabres history?

Doak, really, your stretching the bounds of credulity now.

My sense is that the Sabres were never really interested in an offer that had Matthew Tkachuk as the centerpiece. He's a pending RFA making $7M and strikes me as a player that really wouldn't want to be here. I think Adams used Calgary the same way Babcock used the Sabres, "Calgary offered Tkachuk, you gotta at least include Krebs".

EF talked to Jack. I know what I will be listening to on the ride home from work.

I’m listening to that right now too - EF on the Jeff Marek show, I mean. Looking forward to Friedman’s interview with Jack.

It’s interesting that EF had an interview with Jack lined up anyway and it happened to fall on the day he’s traded. Very serendipitous. As Friedman said, if the trade hadn’t have happened, that interview with Eichel would have had a much different tone.
