Sens fan here. Norris is a good player. If the Sabres make him the top shooting option on the PP he will score at a 30 goal pace.

Hope his shoulder holds up and he has a good career in Buffalo.
While we are excited to hear that as our PP is awful, don't think he's ever going to be the top shooting option on a team with Tage Thompson haha. But having him on the opposite side of him will be great.

It's an odd throw in. The trade seemed equal without it. One of those things like Botterill's trade of a 6th round pick for a better teams 6th round pick of the following year. Makes you scratch your head and wonder "but why?" Ultimately inconsequential except for further evidence that the GM is bad at his job.
That Botts trade about made my head explode.

But that was different, IMO. In that case what we got back was quantifiably worse, so there really was no explanation. In this case, we got Josh Norris and a depth RD back. That's not nothing.

If we want Adams to get deals done and to do that costs him a couple extra semi-trivial assets, I'm fine with it. I, for one, am glad he got something done to change the mix of the team up without significantly reducing the talent. I think Norris is the best player in the deal.

Best of luck to Norris over there. He’s had such a tough couple years but is an awesome guy and all round player. As he gets stronger and more confident he’ll get even better. Already been playing pretty amazing lately.

The only real knock on him could be his injury issues. But if that’s in the past (knock on wood) sky’s the limit. Fast, strong, defensively responsible, wicked shot etc.

Also….JBD is a pretty solid tough option for the bottom pair rhd

Just don't ask him to drive play 5v5 lol

This is exactly why I never complain when Adams doesn't make a trade. Him and his front office do not understand chemistry and player usage.

Norris can be a good player, but he has to play with someone that will create the space for him to be a real asset. He's another center that is more a "complimentary shooter" than a playmaker, which this team is already overflowing with.

Value isn't terrible, but it is not great either, and the fact that it doesn't really address what the team needs, feels more like a "grass-is-greener" ill thought out reaction than a carefully considered execution of a longterm plan.

Losing the 2nd in next year's draft is going to hurt a lot, I'm afraid. Would probably have been more comfortable with a pick swap of this year's early 2nd for one of Ottawa's many 3rds in next years draft - or better yet, not throwing a second at all into this deal.

100% .. This team is chocked full of shooters and their #1 Dman is their best playmaker.

Rough.

Another awful trade from Adams. It's a bad sign he was even allowed to make a trade. I was hoping the reason he hasn't done anything this season is because he was gonna be replaced soon as the season was done. Wishful thinking. Just a terrible trade though

Then probably should have traded for Zegras, there are no more playmakers there. On the other hand Norris is better in some other ways. Idk, I like Norris, I'm just worried about him staying healthy. Helps on at PP, better defensively than Cozens/Zegras, not a soft player. I don't want to just keep watching Cozens in a Sabres kit, I'm tired of him.

Can't wait for the summer video that comes out..

Adams hangs up the phone and pumps his fist exclaiming YES!

And Terry comes in and says... this means we're contending for the Cup.. right Kevyn?

I really liked DC a few years ago, seriously considered picking up his jersey. But man, he has sucked since he got paid.

I think this trade gets done without his popcorn-munching while Hagel is punching Dahlin across the net. Like come the f*** on Dylan.

Didn't mind Gilbert, but whatever.
