This is exactly why I never complain when Adams doesn't make a trade. Him and his front office do not understand chemistry and player usage.
Norris can be a good player, but he has to play with someone that will create the space for him to be a real asset. He's another center that is more a "complimentary shooter" than a playmaker, which this team is already overflowing with.
Value isn't terrible, but it is not great either, and the fact that it doesn't really address what the team needs, feels more like a "grass-is-greener" ill thought out reaction than a carefully considered execution of a longterm plan.
Losing the 2nd in next year's draft is going to hurt a lot, I'm afraid. Would probably have been more comfortable with a pick swap of this year's early 2nd for one of Ottawa's many 3rds in next years draft - or better yet, not throwing a second at all into this deal.
