We’ve all witnessed Cozens play the past two seasons. We all wish he was the player he was before that but he isn’t.

With having that knowledge, unfortunately this is probably the best Cozens could land. An equally expensive player that is talented but a gamble. No team was coughing up a solid player in return.

What's your opinion about JBD? He's not for the top 4, is he? And for the third pair maybe not bad, Idk.

We just traded one dog with fleas for another dog with fleas at an extra milly per year.

f*** off Kevyn.

He was the Sens 7 and in the lineup due to injuries. Other than handedness, I'm not sure this is anything other than piece for piece where the Sens wanted a harder physical player in Gilbert and Buffalo took back JBD as Joki-lite.

I actually think I kind of like this trade. Norris is the better player right now IMO. Very good 2 way C (and he’s actually a legit C) who takes a lot of d zone draws and tough matchups for Ottawa. I think Norris still has some untapped potential too.

If Cozens ever gets back to the player he was 3 seasons ago (for 1/2 a season…) this trade could look good for Ottawa. But basing it off of what each player is now, the edge goes to Norris.

Ottawa is taking a gamble that Cozens can be the player he showed flashes of. Buffalo is betting on Norris staying healthy.

I was hoping Buffalo could package Cozens in a trade to land a big fish. But it seems that type of trade wasn’t happening anytime soon (or maybe ever).

One thing nobody can argue against - changes 100% needed to be made.

Maybe shipping out Cozens after he stood there watching his captain defend him last night will send a message to the room as well.

Adams is a joke! This francise is a joke. We finally got rid of Cozens as much of you desired. We received an often injured more expensive player in return and also threw in a 2nd round pick.

We addressed our 2c..maybe 1c? For a guy who was just spiraling and paid 7+ for 5 more years, Gilbert and a second next year.

That is a massive win for Adams and add in JBD as a transitional right handed shot. Staple him to Power and show him the blueprint to getting paid.
JBD is a depth dman. He does not belong with Power.

All those teams that were reportedly interested in Cozens must really have been low balling their offers. So...not the deal I was hoping for, but it is what it is. Team IQ went up a couple of points so I guess that's a win. Yay.

Yeah, “stand around while Dahlin gets mugged, get traded to a playoff team.” These guys don’t need more incentive to play like cupcakes. lol

Cozens was so bad, the only thing that makes this trade notable to me is the inflated salaries involved

Otherwise you can pretend it's a struggling fourth liner for an injury-plagued potentially good player, which is much lower stakes

Hate this for Gilbert who was a good soldier in his hometown, but such is the life of a fringe player. Seems like we shouldn’t need to add the 2nd here but that’s not surprising

Yeah, speaking of the "want to be here" thing, one would think Gilbert would be that guy. But he's a 7/8 at this point and in his time in the lineup, it's been kinda poor as one would expect.

As for the pick... they have so many prospects still choking their dev cycle, it's kind of a meh for me. I would've prefered something later but not feeling too negative about it.
