This was a targeted move, Sabres can afford to move out some 5v5 scoring as they're good to excellent at 5v5/60 scoring.

Norris is a PP stud and we are abysmal there. Norris stays healthy and I really like it.

I'm at that point too - a lot of risk for a bigger salary on bad shoulders and inside the division.

Watch them talk about how big of a get JBD is when he's the Sens version of Gilbert in terms of TOI. And he's not thought of as tough to play against either. FFS.
Any insight on what made JBD a 1st rounder in 2018? And where it's gone off the tracks? Similar to a blah late 1st D like RyJo?
Am I overthinking that this is a shot over the bow in regards to the WHL troika of Cozens, Krebs and Byram as part of their future core?
I thought the same thing re: their Canada WJC crew, including Quinn.

This is part of the toxicity around this franchise where everything is just assumed to be a worst case scenario disaster. Keeping Cozens was no longer an option and this is the best we could do unless you wanted picks and midling prospects.

Exactly. We *know* Cozens wasn't working here. We can only *speculate* about Norris moving forward.

Odd that we still don’t have confirmation on what we’re shipping to Ottawa in addition to Cozens.
Maybe there is a condition on the pick that is being ironed out.

JBD at NoDak was a nice prospect - good 2-way player, defensively strong. I don't know what's happened since but yeah, that could be a similar story of having gone from well-regarded collegiate defense prospect to wondering what if anything the guy is.

Under 400 minutes thus far this year, mostly with Kleven (another NoDak kid, just like Sanderson). If his name had some silent letters and a -niemi on the end, I could make parallels to Henri.

Josh Norris is in the 3rd year of an equally pricey contract and had a much better season this year while staying healthy.
Much better?? 33 to 31 pts. Healthy? He's missed about ten games. I don't hate Norris and I doubt the Sabres are worse off, but I'm not seeing an improvement. If it's a just change of scenery for both teams and players then fine, just be willing to admit that and move on.

We had to deal Cozens and we gave up a second but Norris if healthy makes this a good trade. If not put him on stir and use the money to get something!
