I've assumed BOS all along

I don't think he'll come to Toronto, too crowded.

CHI would be awesome to fill in a hole at LW.

There is a strong Stamkos qualifier in this carousel.

Will sign with Buffalo after testing the waters because ...... Stamkos
Will want to play in Boston because it's his home town .......Stamkos
Will sign with Toronto because that's where his family is......Stamkos

So the answer is Nashville

This would be the greatest troll job in the history of hockey by Pollie and Vessey. Everything in the media just deception to steal a draft pick from another team. I hope this is what happens now.

I agree on all points. I'll be surprised if he's not a Bruin this fall.

Chicago would just be criminal.

If I was him I'd go to the Penguins because they have the best jerseys in the league. Just looking at it in your avatar makes me jealous.

yea, cause those Blackhawks jerseys are so hideous.:sarcasm:

is that prospect really that good? is really worth 3000+ posts? I know it's summer but WTF, Jimmy Vesey...???

and as per what I could read/understand, he'll be in BUF... Jack's buddy and former team mate

If that was going to happen, why hasn't it already? He's BUF property, and could have signed there at any time over the last 6 weeks or so.

As for how good he is... he should be very good. And even if he only develops into a middle six winger... he's still a good prospect who's free. And everyone likes good free prospects.

he's a free prospect, so he's overhyped.

I don't see why Buff would be a favorite at this point. If that were the case I would think he would have signed already. Seems destined to land on a contender imo.

Tough place to go though if you want to get paid $$ in the long term with that cap crunch going on

Dear Tazer, it's Wednesday and you know what that means - yep, it's Foxboro summer league game day. Please tag along with Stan and make sure Vesey sees you ogling him from the stands. He'll understand.

Saad would disagree, as will Panarin next season. Top-6 LW on the Hawks worked out pretty well for them.

BTW - word on Hawks blogs is that Q is considering having Hossa play on the 3rd line with Kruger - meaning the top-6 will probably be shuffled around which means Kane and Panarin may be broken up to provide more balanced scoring on the top two lines - meaning Vesey would play opposite Kane either Vesey-Toews-Kane or Panarin moves up with Toews and it would be Vesey-Anisimov-Kane.

Saad had to get traded because of that though. And I really can't see you being able to afford the cap space to pay both Panarin AND Vesey and keep both on your team for the long term. Unless you plan on trading away one of Toews, Kane, Keith, or Seabrook (nobody is going to take Hossa, $5.275M for 5 more years for a 27 year old is not an attractive asset). Not to mention that will mean losing Hjalmarsson probably.

Long story short, if I'm Vesey, and I want to stay in the same place for a long period of time, I'm not going to Chicago.

For the bazillionth time, Vesey said from the beginning he was taking this to free agency. He is just keeping his promise to do that. He could still very easily sign with Buffalo, or Toronto, or Pittsburgh, or Boston, or Chicago, or...

The rest of your post I agree with completely.

I'm not really an advocate of splitting up Kane and Panarin, but if the Hawks can pitch Vesey by offering him a 1LW spot on a line with Toews and Kane, then they should do that.

I still think it's Boston in the end, so I'm not going to get my hopes up, but I feel like the ability to walk onto a line with Toews and Kane would be something he would seriously have to consider.

Yeah break up what was the best line last season so you can attract a guy that could possibly become good.

This better score like 50 goals in his rookie year or something. Nothing I have read or seen on this guy is worth the amount of time or effort wasted on him

He's not going to Buffalo. They made their pitch and came up short.

Hawks were a one-line team last season, and clearly Toews needs help on his wings. Q has said he plans to play Hossa with Kruger in a checking role next season, so now Toews has unknowns on both wings.

Moving Kane up with Toews would give a boost to the first line. Panarin is the real deal, he is not merely a product of Kane, and the Hawks may just need him to carry his own line from this point forward. Blackhawks could consider putting Schmaltz on Panarin's RW. Schmaltz is said to be a great passer and Panarin has a pretty wicked one-timer, so it might be worth trying.

Like I said, I'm NOT really an advocate of splitting up K and P, but at the same time, the Hawks' left-wing depth is completely and utterly pathetic, and if they can get a free left wing by at least promising Vesey initially some playing time with Toews and Kane, then they might want to consider that.

Vesey would probably be ok with playing with Toews and Hossa.

Accepting that Harvard is a great school this signing process Vesey is putting everyone through could be that he is just a guy who wants to stay home to play in the nhl just like he stayed home to go to college.
