It's not even acceptable in that scenario because Buch would have needed to be the main piece to make that deal worthwhile.

This was never realistic. Today should have proven that beyond a shadow of a doubt

They're going to sink or swim with their young wingers at some point, I get that.

I just figured Buchnevich had more value than that. Although you have to keep in mind, that's *one year* Buchnevich.

In a vacuum, I don't hate trading Buchnevich for jam but Blais is not who I would have targeted. He kinda just sucks. The best thing about him is that he's won a Cup. We're overvaluing the "know how to win" thing because of those two Islanders games.
Sammy Blais seems like Brendan Lemieux with a cup ring

We'll trade Strome for a LD soon enough.
who? Kurtis Mcdermid from the Kraken? Looks like with the moves we've made so far that would fit the pattern.
I like stronger forwards who push back but not for first line forwards.

More moves are definitely on the radar.

I think for better or worse Drury has vision for what he wants the bottom six to be and I think he's going to make some of those Amonte for Matteau/Noonan type moves we've discussed on here.

The concern for me right now is that Drury, from most reports, has kind of taken an isolationist approach thus far. Maybe that works for him. We will see.

Not digging this move.....at all.

Blais has posted 14 goals and 28 points in his last 76 games. Let's assume for a second that the Rangers see a guy who can score 15-18 goals and net 30-35 points. Let's assume they see him as a third line wing who plays with Goodrow. That's fine. There's nothing wrong with that. Both guys fit that role and have some vluable playoff experience.

There's nothing wrong with that. The challenge is that Blais is ideally the complementary component of a deal for Buch, not the main component.

In other words, he's the Brendan Lemieux or Brandon Prust of the deal. That's what is missing here, the main component for him to compliment.

But, Drury is assembling his bottom six. So that's where the mindset is coming from.

awesome we got to sit through the growing pains with buch just to have to trade him for nothing as he was finally coming into his own I hate the salary cap

Awful trade. Bent over on this one. What was the purpose in trading a 26-year old, two-way, penalty-kill specialist who can put up nearly a point per game? He also plays the game with an edge. He is not replaceable right now.

Absolutely hate this. Drury not off to a good start.

Drury seems fixated on getting tougher and trading off all legitimate talent.

He will be fan favourite player if you dig extra aggressive forechecker. Cup run and every year he was monster hitting machine. Only worries is that he gets injured, 'cus he plays so physical game. Don't know do you have this level physical player in your team. Nasty hitter.

He has offensive skills, but max in 3rd liner.

Gives every shift 110%.
