Love Buch. Blias has won a cup, hes 25, big body, on the up offensively. Banger. Will be a good fit on the bottom lines.

Does this take away a spot from Barron?

The 2nd is a nice addition but its hard to believe this is the best they could get for a 1st line winger who has grown into a fantastic PKer

If it was a 1st it would make it better.

blais is absolute dog shit dude

Or that can be this upcoming season ?

We'd best hope. Both showed flashes here and there, but neither player has shown enough to believe that they are locks for top 6 play day in and day out. Chytil has shown more than either, and this is the equivalent of trading Zib and Strome for grinders in the hopes that Chytil and Barron can handle the top two lines.

I think Barron is safe. This was a cap clearing move for an incoming 2 C. Book it
Still another trade on the horizon imo

I think strome and nils are also going. Unless they plan to move Chytil and shift strome to Panarins RW

Unless this is a salary dump for Eichel, Drury can f*** off for this shit.

It's not even acceptable in that scenario because Buch would have needed to be the main piece to make that deal worthwhile.

I'm not f***ing giving up Chytil, Nils and Kravtsov for Eichel.

But at this point it wouldn't surprise me if we get raked over the coals because I'm smelling desperation from a GM who was just given the reigns like 10 weeks ago.

Look, the second Gorton gave him a bridge contract Buch’s faith in NY was sealed. He would be easy to move and the return would be average at best.

Buch’s contract situation was the exact same as Trouba’s when we got him from Winnipeg. He can go to arbitration and become a UFA in the very near future. Why would you give up a lot in a trade for that?

They're going to sink or swim with their young wingers at some point, I get that.

I just figured Buchnevich had more value than that. Although you have to keep in mind, that's *one year* Buchnevich.

In a vacuum, I don't hate trading Buchnevich for jam but Blais is not who I would have targeted. He kinda just sucks. The best thing about him is that he's won a Cup. We're overvaluing the "know how to win" thing because of those two Islanders games.
