The Rangers as an org were absolutely overflowing with assets so I get why Drury didn't care about getting 80c on the dollar for Buch for what he wanted.

But he's probably only got 1 more overpayment in the bank before he can't do that anymore, and I don't think Blais was worth that stance. Honestly its all gonna depend on Blais next contract and how he lives up to that, or doesn't.

People were expecting a return for a locked up commodity while we in fact were trading a player coming off a bridge deal. What is the difference between this trade and the Zucc or Hayes trade? A few months? Buch isn’t a center. Will probably take 6-7m to lock up long term. Any team that has the cap space long term can get a good player for free by signing a UFA.

We got rid of Webster.

The fact that those chiming in actually watch Buch on a daily basis and THINK he was able to haul Taylor Hall++ return.
To compare the 2 at any point of their respective careers is insane. I do think that Buch is an unfinished product. He isn't a castoff by any means, but he wasn't fetching tier 1 talent either on his own.

Late to the party.
Just saw the news
Never liked Drury as a player here and now hate him even more as our GM
Buch became a legit 200ft player that drives play and scores!
IF this is the best u can get for him then u keep him and trade one of the kids who have proven nothimg yet.
And we get another LW?
What about Barron?
Barron's upside is much better
Buch should have gotten a 1st plus a promising prospect or a really goood C prospect..something we actually NEED

Think I'll find something to do this year besides follow Drury's Rangers.

Can some Saudi Billionaire please buy MSG so I don’t have to worry about Dolan interference ever again

While looking for this picture I found out this actor is dead and now I'm even more upset.

Blais has all the makings of becoming a fan favorite.

I'm fine with overpaying... to a point. We've used our over flowing war chest to fill needs.... It's time to dial it back now. We still have some pieces to fine tune.

I wouldn't presume to know more than professionals when it comes to building a winner. But I'm sure as hell versed on how to build a loser after nearly 30 years of following this team. And I can't shake that overwhelming feeling that we are overthinking a great situation and pissing it away with textbook bad moves.

The over reactions in here are pretty amazing.

The return is underwhelming. The roster is still moving in the exact direction we expected/wanted. We knew Buch was going. We just didn't know if it would be a package for a center or for futures to make cap space. Turns out, it was the latter, but we got bad value on the futures. Doesn't change the fact that we knew Buch wouldn't be on our wing this year. Blais will be a great bottom six guy for us. The 2nd is underwhelming. A 1st and no one is complaining. The "I don't wanna watch Drury's Rangers" posts are silly. I expect we're a better team this year. If you're here posting in late July, you're definitely going to be here next March when we're sitting in a playoff spot.

Rangers are trying to diversify the team so I get it, but now I'm not sure we have a 1RW *yet* unless they try Lafraniere there (Kakko could take it too)

We picked up a left winger....Laf is going to be moved to the middle and Goodrow will assist on the draws until Laf is a 50 % guy . Why else would we get a left winger ? Is Kreider going out next ? I thought Barron was a LW and possible C ? It's hard to figure it out and I tend to think now almost anything is possible when some have stated NOT POSSIBLE....maybe their thoughts have changed with the latest move . I wonder what Gallant's reaction was when he heard the deal announced ?

Hey... on the bright side, we didn't trade Boqvist, a 1st and other picks for Seth Jones and then give him 7x9.5M. Small wins.

Yeah a LW but this guy is more of a bottom six guy than Goodrow is I think

Well, crazy days are here as expected. Just hope the Rangers stay on the sane side from here on out.

Well... I don't really think one has anything to do with the other. One is a bottom six LW, one was the #1 OA pick.

Ls: Panarin - Lafreniere - Kreider - Blais
Cs: Zibanejad - Strome - Goodrow - Chytil - Barron - Rooney
Rs: Kakko - Kravtsov - Gauthier
