I'm not sure he does.

But if he does, you can take Chytil, Lundkvist, Jones and a pick out of the equation.

So alot of our future gone for Eichel. Man this is not how i would have constructed my team. I was a big advocate of Drury. But this deal has me very concerned for the present and the future. We finally had a great thing going and now it looks like we are gonna trade strome for a Mcdermid type dman (UGH) Then what? I feel like we are taking steps backwards with these trades. Im truly concerned about what the next few trades will be since i highly doubt that this is the roster we go back with

Strome is still here and it's unlikely he will be moved, IMO.

So more likely we are going to see:
Lafrenière-Zibanejad-Kakko
Panarin-Chytil-Strome
Kreider-Goodrow (or Blais) -Kravtsov
Or stick Blais on 4th with Barron, if Goodrow is the 3C

I initally thought Blais would be a 4th liner..

I guess we'll see once the dust settles.

Panarin Chytil Kravtsov
Lafreniere Zibs Kakko
Kreider Goodrow Gauthier??
Barron Roonery Blais

after this trade I would rather keep Strome and keep him with Panarin.
Keep Chytil at 3C and Goodrow at wing unless for faceoffs.
How can anyone have faith that Strome will return something impressive without younger assets being attached?
try to get a vet LD without trading anymore young skill.

Stagnated? He literally broke out this past season. Was a completely progressed player....... He's not elite in any way. And I agree, I have never been a huge fan. But suggesting he was anything but "very very good" this past season is ridiculous.
I mean stagnated in the sense that he’s reached his ceiling. We were not going to get a player in Buch who could score more than 25 or so goals.

. I’m hope so. I’m terrified of a Drury giving into their demands especially with no access to medical records

Agree completely about the asset management, I'm not a fan of the trade. I just think panicking about trading out all the youth for scraps is a bit premature (although it could be a long night...)

I would still be happy if we moved Strome. But always assumed we would be bringing in a 2C upgrade. But part of that likely would have to have been Buch going the other way. Now, getting a 2C looks less likely. And even moving Strome at this point looks less likely.

The best thing that can come of this is if it gives Chytil a chance to move up to 2C with Strome on his RW. But I would honestly rather see Kravtsov taking that RW 2 spot and Chytil just practicing his faceoffs 8 hours a day.

Let's a trade away a guy who reached the ceiling that we hope our fortuitous 1OA and 2OA can reach for a 2nd round pick and a bottom 6 grinder that we would have ended up with if we didn't win the lottery in the first place. This is literally just undoing the lotto wins.

If kakko and/or Laf don't zoom past the level Buch is at now by their 4th years we're in for a world of pain.

I have 2 perfect condition Cal Ripken rookie cards, but I only have 1 case for them, so im selling one for 1/2 price.

It doesn't matter who can fill in after Buchnevich is gone. This is a bad F'n trade. One GM gets 13th overall and a 2nd for a terrible defenseman. Another gets a 2nd and a B prospect for a 26 yr old RFA who paced 72 points.

High probability.

Hopefully its for something useful and not some Mcdermid or scrub like deselious or however you spell his name.. Then it looks like we will be going for a center then bc i doubt chytl will take the 2nd line role.

Speechless.

Yeah all I had was that "wat" image spinning in my head for a while.

This has to be Dolan trying to make a splash and playing with a toy he just remembered he had. Not only did Wilson directly lead to the firing of Gorton and Davidson, but it also led to Dolan paying attention and wanting to be a part of it. And this is what we're getting. There's no more buffer. He doesn't care. He doesn't understand this shit at all. I don't even think I can be mad at Drury, I don't think he has a choice. Dolan gave him full power for a reason. To do what ever the f*** Dolan wants him to do. Which apparently is "get tougher" and trade skill for nothing so we can try to get Eichel or some shit. One of Miller or Lundkvist is gone for sure. I just feel it. Just as we were building a solid young D corps and a better team identity. Even if the return was good, which we all know it's not, it's downright robbery, trading f***ing Buch was not the answer. Now we've got uh... Kravstov and Kakko on the right? Beautiful. They're super ready. Yep. I imagine one of them will be going too. Grinders up and down the lineup, hurray!

We're f***ed.

Laf - Zib - KK
Bread - Strome - Goodrow
Kreider - Chytil - Kravtsov
Blais - Barron/Rooney - Gauthier

??

Unless you're flip flopping Blais and Goodrow, I can't see much different configuration.

stagnating with career highs and becoming a defensive and PK specialist. Next you're going to tell me Brittany stagnated with Hit Me Baby One More Time.

So is your idea that he would continue to improve off of last year or was last year more of a fluke? He also went invisible for games and was benched last year too but I’m not arguing that he should be viewed as anything other than a mid level forward. Obviously the NHL agrees with me since the Rangers could not get a real return for the guy.

Not only my favourite Ranger, but also one of the best players on the team being traded for a bag of pucks. Disgraceful.

I think he had 30 goals in him. And really, players of Buch level don't come around easily. He's clearly a very good top 6 talent. Defensively above average after this season. I had no doubt we would trade Buch though. I wanted us to trade Buch. I just wanted a much better return.

When Sather was in charge we are always good for a few goon acquisitions each off-season. Brashear, Shelley, Rupp, Boogard, Haley, Asham, Carcillo, etc.
