They didn't HAVE to deal him RIGHT NOW. He's probably worth more at the trade deadline after another good season.Sucks that there really isn’t room for Buch here but that’s the cap world. Teams know the Rangers had to deal him and you get what you get. Blais can play and he shores up the bottom 6. Rangers still getting harder to play against.
With the way MSG keeps stats he will lead the league next year.Well, trying to find the positives.....He does hit a lot. He was 9th in the league in hits per 60 minutes among players who played more than 30 games last season.
Hate to think what Jack Johnson D Strome will bring back in. trade now.
This team is worse.
I agree that he maybe was a tad overrated and inconsistent but he had not stagnated. This was his best season.
Don't do that to me. I can't fight this whole board. When do we sign Danault for 7M for 6 years?
He may regress, that's been my impression of Buchenvich as well. He was 1 year away at the same production to be seen as a 1st line forward with the production to match. It's not up for argument that we sold at the worst possible price.
Again, he had a very good year last year but I have a hard time seeing how anyone whose watched Buch for his entire Ranger career could realistically think he’s going to perform better than he did last year. Platueauing might have been a better choice of words. It’s been a while since I posted here an forgot how semantical discussions become here.
But one of them was Howden who is a negative and cancels out Buch. We have traded zero players in that video. So that's two players in Fox's Norris congrats video who are now gone. Like some cyber-horror movie plot.
Buch didn’t play centerSo glad this team has decided it doesn't need a center to ever play with Kakko or Lafreniere.
Yeah all I had was that "wat" image spinning in my head for a while.
This has to be Dolan trying to make a splash and playing with a toy he just remembered he had. Not only did Wilson directly lead to the firing of Gorton and Davidson, but it also led to Dolan paying attention and wanting to be a part of it. And this is what we're getting. There's no more buffer. He doesn't care. He doesn't understand this shit at all. I don't even think I can be mad at Drury, I don't think he has a choice. Dolan gave him full power for a reason. To do what ever the f*** Dolan wants him to do. Which apparently is "get tougher" and trade skill for nothing so we can try to get Eichel or some shit. One of Miller or Lundkvist is gone for sure. I just feel it. Just as we were building a solid young D corps and a better team identity. Even if the return was good, which we all know it's not, it's downright robbery, trading f***ing Buch was not the answer. Now we've got uh... Kravstov and Kakko on the right? Beautiful. They're super ready. Yep. I imagine one of them will be going too. Grinders up and down the lineup, hurray!
We're f***ed.

ehhhhhh. I wouldn't call Buch a top6 grinder. He was effective but he's not the guy you win with in the playoffs imo. More shifty than anything.Yeah but Buch WAS top-6 grind no?
The guy was one of the chippiest forwards on the team and gamed out during the bubble, and he probably wouldve grown into that even more under Gallant.
This is a poor excuse.
I am excited about Sammy Blaise. Hopefully he can thrive here.
I still pray Strome is baitI hope you are incredibly wrong. But you are probably partially correct. I don't see them moving one of Lundqvist, or Miller though, or even Jones.
And I see Kakko and Strome as our top 6 RW with Kravtsov as our 3RW and Chytil as our 2C now.
