Well, if he's cheap enough, does it matter? A capable back-up is important.

yes i agree but i still give hank all the work. and if hanks healthy, i ride him.

to me, a backup is less important than finding someone who can maybe..um..i dont know... score ?

we really realy need guys who can score goals.

talbot gets a few games and then we make a decision.

finding goals scorers aint easy tho... bro

Everyone seemed to love him in Anaheim and Phoenix?

Just because he didn't fit in Philly's douchey locker room doesn't make him a cancer.

He served as a huge distraction in the Philly locker room. I don't see how that doesn't make him a problem.

Eh, Hank got tired when he was used too much. It's going to happen. Why bother wasting him when we can get a chance to win with a good back-up? It's why Biron was so useful when he was still good.

apparently richards and carter did as well and they went on to be big contributors to a team that won the cup when they left. philly has had lockerroom issues my entire life. i think brizz's contract contributed to his problems in phillys room. i dont know how a backup goalie can be such a big problem in the lockerroom if he signs for us.

I just don't think we need to add a gong-show of a backup goalie to a team that can't score and looks defensively similar to Philly.

Part of me wants to see it because it would be hilarious, and if he plays well, the Rangers have by far the best goaltending tandem. The other part of me thinks this would be an absurdly unnecessary mistake.

He could do really way in a backup role, without all the pressure, and a semi-light workload. I don't know about this...

I don't think he'd pick Edmonton, he'd get lit up every night.

It could make him a problem. Or it could serve to illustrate the problems in that locker room aside from him. They can't deal with a strange personality on 24/7? How is that on Bryzgalov?

I would think edmonton would be his #1 choice, as he'd have a chance to start there if he plays well.

Nooo, "dare ees 8 months a year snow, can you imagine?"

I'd hire him just to do interviews and talk about tigers and bears and the universe on national tv... funniest player in NHL history, without trying.

Guys you have no clue as to what happened with Richards and Carter in phillie and if you do please don't post it out of respect, the Flyers were torn apart in that locker room and a crazy goalie was the least of the problems .. Now I heard the rangers called Ricky D but he tripped over his dog on the way to the phone and needs knee surgery

I'd be in if he were guaranteed to always be the between periods interview on days when Giannone were doing them. Totally unrelated to his goaltending prowess.

Richards and Carter have NOTHING to do with Bryz. Remember they went to the SCF with Leighton and Boucher in goal, and then the trades happened and Bryz came in for 2011-12.

I always liked him. Funny guy. He did fine in Anaheim, excellent in Phoenix, and Philly just didn't work out.

He has talent. Maybe he can have an Avery T.O.D. I effect and ease this team.

That'd be funny... but he doesn't talk about his prowess, he just says he sucks... he thought philly media was scrutinous? first article by Uncle Larry would give him a complex for years...

He'd be the best back-up in the NHL IMO.

You must be joking...he was 59th in the league in save percentage.

If we accept last year as his worst (it was), .900 really isn't that bad. It was .909 the year before, which is completely acceptable for a back up. On a team with a defense (Phoenix), he put up over .920 regularly. Philly was an overall nightmare for him but he never fell as low as Biron.

As bad as the Philly defense was, Bryzgalov was worse. I'm not disagreeing that he would be a decent back up for the Rangers, but he was terrible the past two seasons in Philly.

Bobrovsky went from having a comparable save percentage in Philly to a guy who put up .930 in Columbus, competing for the Vezina. I'd also mention how Ray Emery looked in Chicago compared to this season... but the sample size is too low. I would expect him to drop 20 points, though.

Soooooo down with this. He's a starter but for a goofy personality that doesn't fly in sports. At best maybe he helps deflect some of the spotlight off stars like Nash who don't seem to particularly thrive under. it. I'd take Bryz over Marty as my back-up every day of the week and even more so going forward. I don't mind the spectacle, who was the last real personality on the Rangers?

Its not like they're bringing him in to be a starter, they just need 20 games out of him (19 now because Biron already started one)

As bad as we have been defensively, the D isn't playing up to where it could be.
So what if he's a kook, let the reporters bother him instead of bothering Hank or Nash
