Absolutely insane. Wing is by far the least important and easiest to fill.
Agree

The only thing that can derail the Bruins long term besides injury is not having top 3 line centers to back fill 37 & 46

Good news is jfk showing signs and both Frederic & Studnicka fit the mold of 3 zone somewhat edgy big centers

Oh, and I’m so intrigued by Cave after watching him bulldoze with speed around the ice last Saturday

Best part I wasn’t looking for him and was clueless he was DeBrusk center in WHL and wasn’t 27 but 23

I’d love to see him make it here

Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe, Ray Bourque............traded yet you know 100% Sid will retire a Pen.
Tell him I said hi next time you're hanging out! Not trying to be rude.......but if you weren't a close friend of his, you wouldn't know this, that's all.

Locked up for 7 more years at 8.7M. A full NMC and when his deal ends, he’ll be 38. He’s not going anywhere. Im confident in saying that. He’s the face of that franchise.

Also, the names you provided.... I don’t see one recent name there. Different times in hockey. Sidney Crosby level stars don’t get moved very often.

Erik Karlsson/Joe Thornton/Tyler Seguin/Taylor Hall/John Tavares(UFA should have been traded)/PK Subban/Shea Webber/Brent Burns

Lot of star power there who have been traded. Teams rebuild, players of Sid's caliber and age bracket don't always want to stay around for one of those to happen. I respect your opinion and your stance but I completely disagree and think Sid will leave Pitts at some point before he retires.

I could see him eventually in Montreal playing with Price

Personally I don’t think the Bruins will do anything until the trade deadline,if management thinks they have a shot at going anywhere in playoffs. If not they will wait to the summer and try the free agent route again.

It sucks that unfortunately we will likely see another wasted year. Chara's literally on his last legs, Bergeron will be older, Krejci will be older, Marchand will be older, and Rask will be older. I don't think this would have been such a big deal 2-3 years ago, but it's a tough time to wash a season away. I mean, you gotta believe that this next month the Bruins will be pretty lucky if they go .500 or so.

Toronto has improved quite a bit and Tampa is Tampa.

I'm not sure standing pat until the deadline is the smart thing to do. If the team is 31-27-6 for example, is it worth it at that point to unload assets if the post season is still not guaranteed?

Are you saying that Nordstrom isn’t a solution for the 2nd line wing? :sarcasm:

Just so you know, not all those names were traded; yet for various reasons they ended upon different teams.

Long term sustainability. Chia left a mess.

If you want to start complaining about wasted years you’re trading Bergeron Rask Marchand Krecji and Chara.

Yep you read that right you trade Bergeron.

If you don’t want to do that you sit back and hope to hell the Debrusks McAvoys Carlo’s can make it count for the rest of the core cause Sweeney isn’t dealing them to get himself fired in 2 years.

Think there’s a lot of people that would be on board with shipping out any of the new guys not named above for immediate help.

Not everyone, but quite a few.

And Krejci too but he seems to be a hot topic off and on here lol.

Personally I’d wait to the deadline. Give everyone a good half year to gel. See who looks like keepers.

If they wait that long it maybe to late.

Their treading water right now. They need help at the Center position, you cant go 6 weeks with Nordstrom as your second line center and expect to make the playoffs. The NHL teams are just to close in talent where a significant injury can really affect the standings.

That’s the problem fans are dumb and looking short term.

Dollar Bill Jacobs would never let it happen.

They will try stay afloat before trying to swim to shore and that’s just the way it is.

I don’t think they’re dumb lol. Just passionate.

I will say that I agree with those that see the window of Bergeron et al closing. Because it is. Maybe not this year but 2 or 3 down the line is pretty much it.

With that in mind ya, get them some help.

As long as that help doesn’t come from dealing Debrusk, Carlo or McAvoy go to town.

I say wait to the deadline though because any kid not named those 3 is going to get you absolute junk on the trade market right now. Because they have all been junk as far as stats are concerned.

If they can float around .500 until guys start coming back they should be fine playoff wise. Even a WC spot gets you a dance partner. Hell the cross over spot might be a blessing in disguise.
