Again. I’m hoping Heinen proves me wrong. I just think he looks like he’s coasting around out there, way too content. He looked that way last year in the playoffs, too.

Don’t be confused.

I’m just adding in the fact that they won’t be as far off in points as people seem to think. People are seriously making this out like Heinen absolutely trumps these guys when in fact, he doesn’t trump a guy like Ferland who has a 20+ goal season under his belt, and 6 point already this year and is trending upward much like Anderson is.

For me it’s not necessarily about points, but let’s not say these guys are Noel Acciari. That’s just plain dumb.

Again, hopefully for the final time, I like Anderson, I just like Heinen more. I’m not as big on Ferland, who bears too much similarity to Beleskey for my taste.

I never said Anderson was Acciari.

He looked like he was coasting when he had 31 pts in 40 games the first half. That’s just the way he looks.

I don’t think his style of play is at all reflective of his effort.

A 30-goal, 60+ point pace isn't underwhelming in the slightest.

RNH's contract is quite good if he can continue to produce the way he has lately. 6 million per is a pretty good number for today's marketplace if he's posting 30/30 over 82 games.

i think they are underwhelming when you are playing with the best player on the planet and I don't think he'd be posting those kind of numbers away from McDavid.

Fair enough, I'm just simply not sold on him much like you aren't sold on a guy like Ferland/Anderson. That's all.

1 point in the post season and 16 points in his last 40 games last year, yeah, I'm not overly convinced.

Also, his start this year is nothing to write home about. It is early, though and I do think he will turn it around a bit.

Anderson’s 6 pts in his last 23 games last year was f***ing stellar

Makes Heinen look like Gretzky.

Oh, but I forgot, Anderson brings other things to the table.

How was his last 40 games of the year? Better than 16 points? Similar? Lower? I can hand pick a number of games to further my argument as well!

Better yet, he looks to be having a better start to 2018-19. Small sample size, but the point still stands.

For a guy who "likes" Anderson, you sure like to knock him around.

If Anderson made Heinen look like Gretzky down the stretch last year, Heinen is making Anderson look like Ovechkin right now.

which are?
I think 20 goals is one of them, I mean he had 19 in 63 last year which would mean he would score 0 in those remaining games.

He also had Dubinsky playing C for him and that guy is an anchor at this point in his career. He doubled Dubinsky's output.

His highest assist total so far is 11, which doesn’t really give me confidence he’s a top 6 forward.

Maybe not... but he's top 9 and still young.

Just looking to avoid some of the redundancy they have in their top 9.

Maybe it's a gamble on potential, but it's one I'd be willing to take.

I'm going to screen shot this thread and compare numbers between Anderson/Ferland and Heinen after this season. I'm actually curious to how close/how far they'll all be.

I just think center is a bigger need than wing right now. An upgrade to Backes on the third line would make the team much more dangerous and balanced. Someone like Sam Bennett adds toughness, some scoring and I think a higher ceiling than Anderson.

Unfortunately, I don't see them being able to move Backes. I do agree, though.

I don't think he posts those numbers as a 2nd or 3rd line C with mediocre wingers. So as if he came to Boston as a C and not LW, his numbers would drop. A lot of that is the fact the C simply has a bigger job defensively.

Your putting too much stock into playing with McDavid. It's like Crosby too. Those guys are so good, think the game so quick, that they are often hard to play with and difficult for coaches to find guys who can think the game close to their level. RNH seems to be able to do that. I don't see why the Oilers would move him anyways, considering he's their best winger now. They certainly wouldn't even consider moving RNH for Heinen.

I don’t think so either, but maybe they could take advantage of having so many NHL ready LD? It would be nice to turn one of them into a decent young center. I’m fine with Backes playing on the 4th line or sitting at this point if it means icing the best players available.

I'd have no problem with that.

You really don't like Josh Anderson do you. I think he would a solid add to the Bruins on line 2 or 3. He's a far better player than Rinaldo. He's a way better skater than Beleskey. The Reilly Smith one... well I got nothing. That was a horrendous trade.

for a 3rd round pick or lower? of course.

but giving up a player that has proven to have much more talent and ability for Anderson because "but hitz!" is dumb.

Anderson is not the type of player you give up any assets of value for.

What is your reasoning for this? WE aren't talking about John Scott here. Anderson can play. I think he's limited but he is a very good 3RW

Lol.

I just grabbed the last 23 because it was easier, and I’m tired of doing all the stat work in this conversation.

Over the last 40 games, Anderson had the same exact total as Heinen, 16 pts.

Over his first 40 games he had 24 pts, compared to 31 for Heinen (there is overlap for Anderson, who played in only 63 games to Heinen’s 77).

The point talk is fine, but in addition to this, the people that want Anderson are apparently just ignoring what Dom said about him earlier? He has a dipshit agent, he held out after 29 and 30 pt seasons and apparently there is some sort of “baggage” there.

The B’s don’t need that kind of headache for what he gives them.
