Post-Game Talk: Bruins @ Rangers: Game ThrLOLee

Stepan may be the worst playoff performer I have ever seen. Not kidding and no hyperbole.

I think it's ridiculous to call out a single player at this time.

Stepan has proven, outside of the NHL, that he is a big game player. He's been a let down, I'm not trying to argue that, but the kid is young, let him grow.

I suspect if the Rangers had an average power play, that Stepan's point total would be quite higher.

It would be very surprising if the coach was fired after the team got to the second round.

That's exactly the point; there is no point in all of us screaming and posturing for a change when there aint none on the horizon!

12-13 2.10 G/GM (5.3% PP)
11-12 2.15 G/GM (17.8% PP)
10-11 1.60 G/GM (5.0% PP)

Anyone noticing a trend?

In comparison, the Stanley Cup winner in 11-12 scored 2.85 G/GM (12.8% PP) and the 10-11 Stanley Cup winner scored 3.24G/GM (11.4% PP).

Both had nearly a full higher G/GM and while their PP was underwhelming, is still 5-6% higher than us two out of the last three seasons.

This is under Tortorella. The team needs to score more goals. 5 goals in 3 games this series. I know, some people will say the players need to take responsibility, but when your team can't score year after year, and the roster changes each year, chances are it's because something is not right with how the team is approaching it.

#NYR Boyle was livid with his own performance from faceoff circle (4-for-21), called it "infuriating."

Didn't realize he was that bad on the dot tonight, wow.

We could ascend too, if we got some decent picks, but

1)We suck at drafting offense anyway

2)Lundqvist keeps dragging this dying turd to the 6th seed

Rebuild is a taboo word at 1 Penn Plaza. Those corporate hiked ticket prices are a yoke around the organization's neck. They always have to go for the quick, stopgap measure as opposed to building a team.

Of the forwards, he's been our best this series outside of Cally and Nash.

He hasn't been good, but let's reserve worst playoff performer for the other 10 guys on the roster who truly deserve it.

#1 worst playoff performer this season easily goes to Brad Richards. Don't give me the BS about his cup. That was over a decade ago. Guy is a ****ing waste.

But if you want to go with o brad has a cup blah blah.

The absolute, unanimous winner of worst playoff performer on the Rangers goes to Michael Del Zotto. He has been atrocious.

When Stepan can prove he's a big game player in the NHL, I'll agree with you. For now, he's been horrendous. Simply horrendous.

The fact of the matter is Sather is not good, BUT, he's a whole lot better than many of the GMs around the league.

Tortorella has been outcoached in four of the last five playoff series, and maybe even the fifth one too (Washington, 2013), but Washington just didn't have enough in the end to win the series.

The team has way too much talent to not score as much as they should, and for the power play to be abysmal. It's Torts, and anyone who watched tonight's game and could say that Torts coached a good game knows nothing about this sport.

Ok, I give up! Let's change the coach and see where the cards fall. Got anyone in mind?

So I take it you disagree with my points?

I don't have anyone in mind...but if you don't believe that breakouts and forecheck are the coaches call then the conversation doesn't need to go on.

If we manage to pull the unthinkable, we'd be the 5th team in the history of NA SPORTS to return from the 3-0 hole and win.

Make sure to take a deep one if you plan on holding your breath.

Speechless after how the third period turned out. I wasn't critical of Hank in game 2 because I thought Girardi was at fault for all of those goals. That first goal tonight, is on Hank. Back to back giveaways, leads to unnecessary zone time and the tying goal.

You're not in trouble until you lose a game at home..guess what, we're in trouble!

Would like to see a new coaching staff for next season because as good a coach as torts can be, hes not the coach for this team. Now if only there was someone available to coach the team.
Sather can stay, talk all you want about him but he has that magic touch when it comes to trades. People bring up his free agency track record, but he brings in the players that the fans want to see brought in. When they don't work, he manages to get something back for them.

I honestly dont know if I would want Richards back. On the one hand, his fall from grace is so extreme that I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt that there is some underlying issue that he can rectify in the offseason and go back to being our #2C, but on the other hand, good God has he looked bad.

In 2 years it will be Henrik Lundqvist of the Detroit Red Wings. Perfect fit........MUCH better coach and much more successful and classy organization.

Team game. Team is impotent on offense, offesne and goal scoring excitement is why we watch hockey.

And to be honest? If you over-do it on defense and take it far, people will enjoy the wins. Slip up on the defense, become boring because there is nothing up front to make up for the loss on the back end?
Yep, people don't enjoy it any more.

For those who slam people who do not enjoy Rangers hockey when it is so bereft of offensive excitement, I have to ask what part of that game do you enjoy?

When Stepan can prove he's a big game player in the NHL, I'll agree with you. For now, he's been horrendous. Simply horrendous.

Fair enough, but let's throw some other names into the ring, and maybe not put it on one player here?

Richards - Horrendous
Callahan - Mostly horrendous, he's played better this series but he's not where he needs to be
Nash - Effort is cool, let's hit the twine maybe.
Del Zotto - No comment. Too funny to even comment on.

etc... etc...

Oh, and to everyone who RAILED me after saying that DZ was going to be traded at the draft after the Gaborik trade went down, I still say you'll see :)
