Post-Game Talk: Bruins @ Rangers: Game ThrLOLee

You don't need shooters to score. There's no crease presence, they stay on one side, they are apathetic to one timers..I mean, who else ****ing puts a player behind the net besides us?

you don't need shooters to score?

seriously?

we're going to pass the puck into the net now?

When the Bruins are coming out through the middle of their zone because you have your guys on the board and you don't adjust that's being outcoached...when you try to break out of your own zone up the boards and the Bruins is D is pinching to prevent you from using the boards and you don't adjust by coming out through the middle it's being outcoaced.

Completely agreed. Torts is being outcoached, it doesnt take all that much to see it. He makes no adjustments to what Boston has done to shut us down. Sure the players can get some blame as well, but the fact is if it isnt working then change it up. Come up the middle instead of the obvious wrap around the boards to the winger that is getting pinched on every god damn time. Is Boston bigger, yes, faster, yes, but Torts could be putting our guys in much better positions than he has. That is coaching, plain and simple. The PP, Im not even going to get started on that.

My friend who works for the Rangers had this to say on Facebook...

In all my weeks in this business that was the most somber dressing room I've ever been in. Boyle was livid with himself. Tough loss.

I think the players saw the rumor that torts is out if they lose to boston

LOL, so they're throwing the series to get rid of Torts the Tyrant? I have always HATED Torts, but that's one of the most ridiculous things anyone could say right now.

Sorry. Didn't add "slapshot" shooters.

Either way, the way Torts and Sully run the PP is without a ****ing clue.

Bruins fan here coming in peace

1) Why did Gaborik get traded?? Bc as you guys know very well, he was and has been a Bruins killer. Could of changed the outcome of this series big time

2) Would the rangers have been better not to trade for Nash and keep Dubinsky, Anisimov ??

3) You guys really need a offensive minded D, like the Bruins have with Krug. Is there anyone from the minors that can be brought up? In general , for much needed scoring punch, who else from the ahl can be brought up??

I hope we win of course, but i'd like to see NYR bring their A game for game 4. Goodluck

1) Tortorella.

2) I don't know. Part of the problem with not getting past the Devils was not having a real gamebreaker outside of Gaborik. However, losing Dubinsky did take away some of the grit. I was never a big Anisimov fan (there's some here who thought he was great), but maybe he did bring more than I saw. Don't know.

3) Problem is, guys like Del Zotto and Stralman and Moore SHOULD be offensive minded defensemen. Heck, even McDonagh and Girardi have a little bit of skill. It's the system that keeps the Ranger D from joining the play, and when they do, they're so horribly out of position, it leads to odd man rushes against.

The Leafs gave the Bruins fits with their speed, besides Hags(who hasn't done much of anything), the Rangers are showing that they are too slow to be a real threat.

lol grow up with that "if its so easy why dont you do it" crap. The guy is out coached because he refuses to change. He's trying to fit a square peg into a circle hole. Not many guys on this team suited to a dump and chase game and it shows. Open the offense up a bit and let your franchise goalie stop shots instead of diving in front of everything. How many goals go in because players try to block shots which bounce around Hank or end up right on the other teams stick. If it doesnt work, change it, dont try and force it more.

It's SUCH a ridiculous misconception that the Rangers play dump and chase hockey.

They really don't.

They play a counter attack style, and dump it in when there's nothing else there...half the teams play the same exact offensive style.

Right now the biggest problem in our "system" is that we're not pressuring the points hard enough, for teams like the B's that plays right into their wheelhouse.

Saying they play dump and chase hockey is...

i'm not even going there.

problem is they are harder on themselves then they are on the opposition.

**** Brian Boyle.

I have to hang this on Slats. He never developed a decent bottom 6 and those key guys from last year (Prust, Fedotenko) were simply cast aside. Secondly, you don't have enough size and grit at the center position. It's going to be amusing watching the devils and rangers struggle over the next few years and then watch the Islanders ascend.

Ok, I give up! Let's change the coach and see where the cards fall. Got anyone in mind?

Yes, Sather sucks ass. We all know. It's been discussed here for a decade. It's not brought up much because most of us have resigned ourselves to the reality that Sather has a lifetime deal.

Someone needed to say this.

We all know Sather is not ideal, but guess what? HE IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE> Get over it because he is here to stay.
