Was hoping UMass was going to play QU this year since QU is 10 minutes down the road from my house. Still may go when BC comes to town so I can see Gasseau & Jellvik though

I went to day 2 today. Only a half-hourish practice so a small sample size. Random observations:

Beecher was not noticeable. Couple errors handling passes. Didn't stand out to me at all.

Merkulov, Poitras, and Lohrei looked good. Were able to move the puck around and control the flow better than the rest.

Kuntar's shot and stick handling were impressive. Good offensive skills.

I didn't really notice Lysell, but he was at the other end of the ice for a good portion of practice.

Callahan looked solid, and laid a good hit on a 2 on 2 drill.

Ritchie looked out of place. Got beat a few times and made some bad plays.

All in all kind of meh, not a hugely exciting or up-tempo practice, and no major standouts.

Good ice cream but my peanut allergy son had one of their ice cream sandwiches at crane beach and broke out so a little shaded out!

Dave, my bud goes there 2-3 a WEEK in the summer - he loves that place and will get there in next week

Ya I could potentially. The only downfall is that instead of a 10 minute drive its an hour drive for me.

I’ve been impressed every time I’ve watched him too. Even against grown men at the worlds. Locmelis is going to see some nhl games if he doesn’t get injured.

Fun fact: Locmelis was on the ice for the game winner against USA at the worlds.

Any thoughts on ASP in the game?

This place is great but If I’m going to recommend ice cream on the Northshore/Merrimack valley it would have to be Bensons in Boxford. Straight up some of the best ice cream in New England. Their flavors are the fresh and seasonal fruit the farm has at the time. They also have vegan options for those that need.

Friday's wrap

Pelosi tossed after a hit from behind in pre season action, ended up with 1 shot, -1 12 minutes in penalties 4-2 loss
Hendrickson with 15 minutes in penalties
Sioux Falls plays again today

Over in Sweden Myrenberg played 15:06 in a 3-2 SO win, he was +1 with 1 shot

On the other hand, this kid continues to impress.



And I'm also watching old friend Matias Mantykivi and Andrei Svetlakov. If the latter ever came over to North America, he'd be a fan favorite in Boston.
