With deadline coming up, I know an array of different value/skilled players being mentioned as possibilities, curious to hear opinions on the following:
Which prospect is most likely to be moved? (the prospect that has value that the Bruins would most likely be willing to move)
Which prospect do you think is off limits for a rental (of any level)?
Under the radar, any Bruins prospects you think other teams may have interest in that could be a "throw-in" to top a deal in our favor? Likely not on anyone's top 5 prospect lists, but has NHL viability that another team may be looking at them.

Always interested in hearing peoples opinions on guys I don't get to see or don't follow frequently.
Likely Harrison, Lauko,Steen

Off limits in an ordinary rental trade
Lorhei, Locmelis

Under the radar
Gallagher, Gasseau, Bussi

Decision day is fast approaching Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney in regards to trade deadline on March 3, 2023. There are also two decisions facing the GM not pertaining to trade deadline and that date could come in mid to late March. And the question is: what to do with Dustyn McFaul and Quinn Olson? Both player’s college careers will come to an end and Sweeney must decide on whether to sign them or let them go as unrestricted free agents on August 15, 2023.

McFaul, a defenseman, was selected in the sixth round of the 2018 Entry Draft (181st overall) from the Pickering Panthers of the OJHL. Olson, a forward, was selected in the third round of the 2019 Entry Draft (92nd overall) from the Okotoks Oilers of the AJHL. Both players took the college route; McFaul with Clarkson and Olson with Minnesota-Duluth.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say I coveted both players where the Bruins drafted them. I believed that if their offence could translate at the higher levels, they’d turn out to be decent picks. Five and four years later, it hasn’t turned out that way.

i've read with much interest your view on mantykivi, his solid two way 3 zone game, good skater, and traditionally slow starts. where do you see his development this year and thoughts on his future coming to north america?

He signed a 1-year extension to play with Ilves next season. It has the traditional IIHF out clause which means he'd have to terminate his contract by June 15, 2023 to sign an NHL contract. JFK did this a couple of summers ago and then couldn't get an NHL contract.

But his rights expire June 1st, so the Bruins would need a contract spot to sign him. I love his neutral zone and defensive game. Disappointed in his offensive game though. Never developed like I was hoping it would.

Don't know what his intentions are, but I am thinking they let him walk.

Some really good insight on Lysell here: Fabian Lysell rides pro hockey’s up-and-down wave: ‘Hopefully I’m working myself back'

A few highlights for those who do not subscribe:
-- He says he's felt "gassed off for a couple weeks now" but it wasn't clear if it was a physical issue or mental. Seems a little concerning to me but he did say he's felt better after sitting out this weekend.
-- He touched on his WJC performance saying "maybe he wasn't mentally there". Not ideal IMO but he did call it a learning experience.
-- Mougenel had some very high praise for his attitude off the ice. Said he's "super well-liked by his teammates".
-- Lysell seemed content honing his game in Providence. Some hot shot prospects might be antsy for their call up but he realizes he has work to do. Good for him.

I'll add: the last two points above make the "bad attitude" whispers leading up to the draft kinda funny. Either he's matured very quickly or they were BS.

Hoping the B's hang onto him at the deadline.

The bad attitude thing was due to Fabian forcing a move from Frolunda to Lulea in order to get SHL time during his draft year. For some reason, kids refusing to stay in the J20 when they have other options is invariably seen as gauche. That he got a whopping 30 seconds of ice time a night in Lulea didn't really help Lysell's image or his draft status, so maybe the critics had a valid point of view, if not an entirely accurate one.

I would never read much into what 19 year olds (technically now 20) say. I'm sure he wanted to perform at the WJC, it just didn't happen and he just guessed at an explanation.

Not surprising he is wearing down at this point of the season. Its his first season of N.A. pro hockey, it is a physical and mental grind. He's still doing better than most his age.

The playoffs will be the big litmus test for me.

Jellvik was unreal tonight for BC. I wish I was counting how many scoring chances he generated because I'm pretty sure it was double digits. If not for Devon Levi standing on his head and teammates missing the net, Jellvik would have easily had multiple points.

Kuntar and Gasseau had their moments as well. In the handful of times I've watched BC this year, I've been surprised by Gasseau's skill level. Not only is he skating with Cutter Gauthier (top 5 pick) and getting #1 PP time but he's showing off some nifty hands. Tonight he pulled off a between the legs shot from in close.

Good stuff from two freshmen.

Tuesday Night Recap

As BronxBruin said Jellvik had himself a game last night 4 shots -1, around 8 shots that were blocked or deflected, he was buzzing around the ice ,unfortunately Northeastern steals the 2-1 win
Kuntar 3 shots 10 for 11 Faceoffs
Gasseau credited with no shots ,nevertheless he had a strong game, the stat commandos will struggle with that

Devon Levi was awesome
And Aiden McDonough will look good in a Bruins uniform

Mast 2 assists 2 shots +2 3rd 🌟 5-1 win

Dyck was the backup, they lost 4-2

Years later, can we figure out what happened with JFK? 2nd round flop that was compared to Bergeron when he was drafted. Was he homesick, was there a health issue at home, did he leave school too early, was it all of the above?

And he was a mid second round pick, and the vast majority of second round picks fail . Not sure there is much more than that

He definitely left school too early
Also his severe concussion doesn't get talked about enough, add that with the family stuff and you can see why it ended the way it did
His last pro game he played under 3 minutes, wonder what he's doing now?

It is weird that Elite Prospects has him listed as D/C. How often does he play center to get that designation?
He use to play forward years ago. Can't recall how long it's been. I think he has taken 3 faceoffs in the Q this year, all defensive zone once the center was kicked out and there wasn't another on the ice.

Brunet seems to be a star every game ... goal and 3 helpers nice to see.

Beautiful!

Have you had a chance to watch him play "much" time in Victoriaville?
