Gasseau now at 23-5-10-15 as a 19 year old freshman. His trajectory over the last two years, including within this year, is extremely impressive. If I were ranking prospects right now, I'd have him 5-8, with only Lysell, Lohrei, Poitras and Harrison clearly ahead of him.
He's clearly exceeded expectations, nice development curve
For rankings I've been thinking about modifications, instead of 1-10 ,I'm leaning towards putting them in tiers
A- Lorhei, Lysell
B+ Harrison,Bussi,Locmelis
B Duran, Kuntar Poitras etc
Something like that,it allows me to add more players and be a bit more flexible

Decision day is fast approaching Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney in regards to trade deadline on March 3, 2023. There are also two decisions facing the GM not pertaining to trade deadline and that date could come in mid to late March. And the question is: what to do with Dustyn McFaul and Quinn Olson? Both player’s college careers will come to an end and Sweeney must decide on whether to sign them or let them go as unrestricted free agents on August 15, 2023.

McFaul, a defenseman, was selected in the sixth round of the 2018 Entry Draft (181st overall) from the Pickering Panthers of the OJHL. Olson, a forward, was selected in the third round of the 2019 Entry Draft (92nd overall) from the Okotoks Oilers of the AJHL. Both players took the college route; McFaul with Clarkson and Olson with Minnesota-Duluth.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say I coveted both players where the Bruins drafted them. I believed that if their offence could translate at the higher levels, they’d turn out to be decent picks. Five and four years later, it hasn’t turned out that way.

Gotta let them go IMO

Providence is jammed up already and we’ve got more players ready to make the pro jump like Lohrei, Duran, etc

You guys typically know a better than me but both of those guys seemed very meh to me at the NCAA level

Per usual awesome read! I loved what I saw from McFaul 3 years back Buffalo prospects. Thought he could be a good 4th line grinder. Played with chip on shoulder.

Brunet is only 1 point behind the leading QMHL d man, would be ranked 3rd OHL, and ranked 2nd WHL. Bruins may have a dark horse stud. Most likely has the opportunity to play world juniors in 2023.

I'm going the other way, they need to sign them both
It's likely Boston trades away multiple draft picks and prospects in the next 30 days and Boston's pool of prospects is dangerously low and not particularly deep (except in goal)

McFaul is a defenseman, maybe you were thinking of someone else?

Sunday Wrap

DiPietro The backup 5-2 win

Brunet 1 goal 5 shots +1 5-1 win

Harrison 2 goals 5 shots +1 9- 4 win 3rd 🌟

Poitras 1 goal 3 assist 2 shots +2 first 🌟

I actually watched this game,Poitras showed his usual escapeability and edge work along the boards, he does almost all of his damage away from the middle of the ice, somewhere between the bumper and the boards ,he looks for players cutting into the slot, very Lacrosse like
Excellent vision!
Hands are certainly there
Digs out a high number of pucks using his stick along the boards, isn't physical but does engage
Shot is still average
North South speed needs to improve
Excellent in tight spaces though
He seems to always be the last guy getting back into the D zone and back checking was almost non existent
Like every other teenager in our prospect pool needs to put on a few pounds and get stronger
He got some warts but he's a good looking prospect

It's been a long time, but to me that could the scouting report for a young David Krejci. Not making a comparable here, just observing that it sounds very similar.

The guy he is trailing is his teammate who had the benefit of playing with Victoriaville all season while Brunet had to carry Rimouki on his shoulders.

With deadline coming up, I know an array of different value/skilled players being mentioned as possibilities, curious to hear opinions on the following:
Which prospect is most likely to be moved? (the prospect that has value that the Bruins would most likely be willing to move)
Which prospect do you think is off limits for a rental (of any level)?
Under the radar, any Bruins prospects you think other teams may have interest in that could be a "throw-in" to top a deal in our favor? Likely not on anyone's top 5 prospect lists, but has NHL viability that another team may be looking at them.

Always interested in hearing peoples opinions on guys I don't get to see or don't follow frequently.
