I can't imagine anyone else in the system who would have a similar path like Soderberg.

People in the twitter comments suggest Cehlarik but that isn't a Soderberg-like situation.

That's all I got until a certain playoff is done and over. If Darren Dreger wants to report on it, he can be my guest ;) but I prefer to wait until player is no longer playing. (although not the same way Soderberg was handled).

Anyway, after conversation with said player's European scout, I am told and am confident it's a real possibility

Who is the B's Russian Scout? They draft so few, I'm guessing whomever it is does other Euro areas as well?

At any rate, we are one game closer to finding out (possibly) if it is Chud. His SKA team lost to Lokomotiv and is down 3-2 in their series. Next game is Friday.

lol how crazy would it be if Chudinov pulls a Soderberg and comes this season? If Soda is Yeti, do we call Chudinov the great "Houdini"? Crazy how success makes players want to play for Boston. Gone are the days of Sinden. Just a couple of weeks ago it seemed that Chudinov was a lost cause.

Dont fall into the points means he is good, bruin fans dont fall for that. Soderbergs all around game is better then bozak's offence only approach. Bozak does play with the most offensive players on the leafs and most minutes of any centre. Probably a minus player like phil has been most of the year. Leafs don't roll 4 lines like the Bruins.

The team is outshot every game and near 50 shots against at that. The center's and linemates are failing big time and cheating up the ice looking for cherry points while the dee and goalie suffers.

That does not happen with julien and sodaberg knows the defensive game having learned it in Sweden. He is a new center to this team and if not for bergy and krech he would be a #1 center for sure and on Toronto easily. Bozak is good but leaf fans would rather have a real #1 center, they have been wanting that for years. If they got kesler, bozak would be demoted fast.

When I think of Bozak, Stajan comes to mind. Similar player. Looked legit in TO, anywhere else was a 3rd liner. Can't help but wonder how much playing with Kessel is helping his stats.

I've seen Carl Soderberg play since his junior days. I tell you he's always had confidence and offensive talent. What he's added is work ethic and defense awareness. I know Carl trained harder than ever before. At the request of the Bruins yes, but, I know he also realized what shape the Bruins guys were in. But, on the subject of Carl coming finally I'd never believed in until he was here. Remember he sacrificed a spot on the Swedish National team during last year's World Cup tournament, but, in doing that he was not invited to the Olympic team.
Kudos to Carl cause he really loves being a Bruin and he's doing very well.
But, I wouldn't be equally surprised if Chudinov comes over. I doubt that he will help though. Some may hope for a Konstantinov clone. Won't be anywhere near and he'll return to Russia when cut from playing in Boston. He doesn't speak any English, and therefore communication breakdown could happen. I know Zdeno Chara is said to speak Russian, to what extent I don't know. I also question why Maxim Chidinov would come here and play for less money than in KHL where he's established.
But, as I was completely off in Carl's case I best provide this story with an *.

Don't know Chudinov's character or what to expect from him. But maybe he wants to play in the best league in the world to see how good he is against the best. Maybe ambition is more important for him right now than money. Maybe he can be a Bruin version of Emelin. Have to wait and see if he comes first.

hopefully he's not a cowardly turd like emelin.

SKA lost a few days ago. figure we'd hear something soon about chudinov if he really is considering a trip to boston.

Nugs,

SKA wasn't eliminated until yesterday, lost Game 6 to Lokomotiv 2-0. I would give it a couple of more days before we head for the ledge

Might be better if he were that cowardly turd- just to see MTL implode.

It would be awesome if he could come aboard and get a taste of the playoff run this year like the Yeti did last year. Give him a picture of what he's getting into and what he needs to do in the offseason.

Really like what I have seen from Gothberg in the few games I have watched this season. Always seems to be square to the shooter. Good side to side movement too.

43 saves for gothberg so far. Going to double OT. Kid is promising goalie prospect.

My son had lacrosse practice in the pouring rain under the lights at Garber Field tonight (UMass) and we didn't get home until 10pm. By the time I got all his gear squared away, and hung up, I caught UND scoring a couple of minutes into the 2nd OT.

Gothberg ended up with 44 saves and the announcers were raving about him, saying that Ferris St had dominated the 3rd and 1st OT, and Gothberg was the only reason North Dakota even made it to the 5th period.

Gothberg was unreal last night. Really tight. Stole the game.

I also love Grimaldi, even tho he'll be a Panther, for UND.

I try to keep an eye on Rocco because I acquired him in a SIM league I'm in. Thought he looked really dangerous the night before against WIS. Scored on a sweet backhand inside the post (his other two goals were ENG's).

Conversely, I didn't think that Gothberg looked great on the goals he allowed (only 2). UND dominated the majority of that game IMO, and he wasn't really tested. It was nice to see that he stepped up for them big time last night. Looking forward to seeing him (and Grimaldi) play next weekend in the Frozen Four.
